PICTURES: GMT-Master Evolution

Hello TRFers and happy Friday to you. I was fortunate to have the 4 major references of the GMT lineup recently so had to do a little photo shoot and wanted to share with my fellow enthusiasts. Depending on your perspective, not a lot has changed or a lot has changed...part of the joy with this hobby, right?

Also, the bookends are the hardest/rarest to source for wildly different reasons so it's also fun to think about how much Rolex as a company has evolved too.

Anyway, here's what you really care about; the pictures:

Reference 6542 (1957) -> 1675 (1970; Mk2) -> 16710 (2002) -> 126710 (2021)

Fantastic post Daniel

As a BLRO fan, I can honestly say that IMHO Rolex has done a wonderful job of updating the reference over the years. One must remember that these changes occurred over decades with many minor changes in between.

It’s truly interesting to see them all together at once. Thank you for this post

Very cool! I am typically a 6 digit guy, but the 5 digit really stands out to me amongst the four generations here.

16710 for the win! Of course, I'm biased.

Nice post!

Great pic! Still think the 16710 is the sweet spot for the Pepsi.

That’s an awesome and extremely informative picture!

The penultimate Pepsi is my favourite.

Man I just love the brushed links for the SS oyster GMTs. Makes it more sporty imo. Wish they'd kept them on this most recent reference...

Awesome pictures and post. Thanks for sharing!

just need to squeeze some pointed crown guards with a tiny 24 hour hand in there but I suppose that would still just be a 1675… Thanks for sharing!

6542 is amazing. Thanks for sharing. A new Pepsi with a lumed sapphire bezel would be a novelty.

Great pics and what a fantastic GTG of the Iconic Pepsi lineage.

Photos also go to prove that anyone thinking the first ceramic Pepsi’s with their washed out pastel coloured bezels were Rolex’s take on imitating the bakerlite bezel are talking complete boŁ#ox.
