This might not be economical for Czapek but I pray they only make 77 pieces of the Rattrapante and move on to other complications in dress watches.

How many folks here with the Antarctique were converts or add-ones from Nautilus, Royal Oak and Overseas ownership?

It’ll be interesting to see. They were careful with regards to the 99 owners of the Terre Adelie when they released the Passage de Drake. I also have a Rattrapante coming and wouldn’t mind your scenario playing out!

I dont think the Antactique Rattrapante will ever be produced in big numbers because the movement is very complicated to make. I suspect Czapek might come up with a standard Chrono ala Royal Oak 26331 and Nautilus 5980 as a series production and save the Rattrapante for special editions only. While the Overseas line plays in the same space as the Antarctique, I'm not in love with the designs overall. To be honest if I was given the opportunity to trade my Antarctique for a 15500 it would be a very tough call for me. In the current environment, I bet I would out of the strong pull of FOMO. But if both were readily available I'd go with the Czapek. It sits better on my wrist, I like the 6:00 date window, easily interchangeable bracelet and rubber or leather straps, and the movement is way more interesting. In the end, I'd probably get both but with different dial colors to shake things up. |

Well I really liked the Antarctique in the pictures and came quite close to ordering one in July but when I saw it in person in the boutique and tried it on it just didn’t do it for me unfortunately. I also own a Nautilus and a 15202 and I just don’t think the Czapek is comparable. Just my opinion!

Overall impression really…the czapek is a lovely watch with a cool movement and I really wanted to like it but I just wasn’t attracted to it when it was in my hands. Don’t really care much about exclusivity, uniqueness or pricing if I’m not attracted to the watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m curious because I want to purchase an Antarctique. If you felt it was inferior I was just curious what was inferior or not comparable. |

Yeah that’s right. Wouldn’t say it is inferior, just not comparable in terms of design and aesthetic in my eyes that’s all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The antarctique really drew my attention, but I ultimately went with the VC Overseas 3 hander. This coming from someone who had a 5711 and has a 15202. I liked the LE of 99 more than the passage de drake, and the LE was impossible to get. Tempting but just couldn’t pull trigger. Was therefore curious how others decided for or against.

I have both the Antarctique and RO 15500. I must say the Antarctique wears better but RO has the nicer bracelet. If i was forced to sell one, id let go the RO. It just does not get much wrist time since the Antarctique joined the collection.
The Overseas never really attracted me. Way too big and bulky and lacks the sophistication of others. Feels like it was designed by some suit at Richemont. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

More dial colors of the Antartique will be released in 2022 (Glacier Blue & Salmon) as well as Ladies version.
A limited edition will be released before the end of the year. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk |

Hi guys,
I’ve received the mail asking for split-second hands color and engraving. I’m getting full red hands. What do you guys think about engraving? Would anyone engrave “drive safe myself” to a 50 grand watch? Last edited by Gaphle; 4 November 2021 at 06:49 PM.. Reason: Grammer |

I'd go with "bad mofo" or "rich AF" if I were to do engraving. YMMV.

If it were me, for me, it would be something simple like initials, a memorable date or event, or something obscure and irreverent, like 'Mine'. Or 'by Timex'. Or 'Ageing in Split Seconds'. I left my Czapek blank, to be honest. Felt more honest that way. If my wife every buys me a watch as a present, I hope that one will be engraved. |

There are plenty of good mottos in Latin to be used depending on your outlook in life. E.g., "Memento Mori", if you're a Stoic...

Curious on everyone's thoughts on the bracelet? Well thought out and designed or an afterthought?
