Speaking of Seikos.....

Thought I should show some pics of the one I bought a couple of months ago (just getting around to taking photos).

Here is a shot that shows the blue dial - this dial looks black depending on the light.

Here is one that I took outside in the natural light - great day to sit outside. This one shows the etching on the crystal as well.

Tried to take a shot showing the lume, but it came out quite blurry (my hands aren't as steady as they used to be):

Quite a nice watch for the price. The only real issue I have is that you can't wind this by hand (only an issue because I have 3 autos and only one winder).

Enjoy!

That's a classic design that goes all the way back, Al - it's got an OQish look to it. I quite like the way they kept the "5" logo on the dial.

I'll agree that the inability to hand wind the movement is a pain - you never know if the mainspring's fully wound unless you pound it sideways on your palm a good number of times.

Actually, I did come across a site where the 6309's designer was taking questions online - can't find it now. Come to think of it, maybe I should have asked him why they decided not to build hacking and hand winding functions into it.

Anyway, for good measure, here's a few shots of my baby:

A classic look Al Seiko's Dials are aways first class, and never seem to discolour and age well. That case reminds me of the oysterquartz, and agree with you about the winding but apart from that a reliable watch.

avalon.. i agree with you with regards to not being able to manual wind seikos is a bit of a pain sometimes.. also the fact that they dont hack is somewhat irritating.
