How should you express your gratitude...

to your AD when you've gotten the call and picked up your long awaited Rolex?

Is there an etiquette to this? I don't want to not show my appreciation in the correct way.

After you hand over your cash, a simple smile and a thank you.

Personally I've always found the words "thank you" are perfectly sufficient when you're sold something by a salesperson who's paid to sell you things.

I completely understand. However when there's a list and they can sell to anyone and it's you they call....

Do you tip car salesmen or the cashier at Best Buy?

Yes, and typically this would be the right thing to do. We are talking about the privilege of spending thousands of dollars on a mechanical wristwatch, and a Rolex at that. Possessing these objects give people the respect they deserve in the real world This is no small matter.

The OP should offer an additional $40,000 to the sales person for being so nice, or a first born child.

I agree but didn't want to miss doing something that should be done. Best Buy doesn't have long waiting lists where it's their discretion on who gets called next.

Well, you so sort of need an inside man if you want a PS5 at retail right now.

I show my gratitude by giving them my money.

We sometimes go in with some posh confectionary. We do this with a number of businesses we are on friendly terms with and for no particular reason. It really depends on the nature and dynamics of the relationship, the people involved and what seems appropriate. A very personal thing. Some of my clients give me gifts. Never expected, not really necessary, always appreciated.

Showing gratitude can go a long way sometimes. Find out what they like and get it, doesn't have to be anything expensive. Could be something as small as a Starbucks gift card or something.

After I got my Pepsi, I brought in Starbucks coffee for everyone. I felt like I needed to do something and I thought that would be a nice gesture.

I think in this times and ages, a gesture of a nice gift: a bottle of etc, goes extra in showing your gratitude. But it seems here most think it’s just a sales transactions, those of those that have a nice gift, recognize how much we appreciate the call.

Be kind and being thankful is always brings a nice feeling.

Just toss a little something in the tip-jar that they have on the counter.

Tell them to sell you another Rolex!!

Nothing shows appreciation & gratitude like repeat patronage.

Don't be a flipper and referrals - ideally for non hype products they sell. A good Yelp review as well. You don't need to be giving monetary gifts. Loyalty is a gift.
