I have 2 frangipani trees in my yard and I also pick off a few flowers every day and put them in a bowl of water. Mmmmmm.

Pass a Cinnabon in your local mall and tell me you are not drawn to the smell - I dare you!

The smell of tea olive plants on a summer evening.
The air during and after a thunderstorm.
Cinnamon.
Hot chocolate.
AV gas.
The exhaust from an old two stroke moto-cross bike with castrol oil mixed in.
Fresh 35mm film.
The way the air smells at 15,000 in an open airplane.
Ocean sea-breeze.
The warm scent of a baby, especially if it is yours.

I don't like remembering bad smells but one of the worst is that of a dead rabbit hidden in my garage in the summer heat.
The thick, cloying scent of dying flowers. Smells like hospital rooms and funeral parlors.

Here's what sucks on a sweltering summer's day, the smells of . . .

1. Visiting the House of Mammals at your local zoo

2. Driving in your convertible, top down, following a garbage truck

3. Working in a slaughterhouse with the air conditioning in disrepair.

4. Getting too close to my neighbor, Zeke, and his hamster collection.

I used to really like that one, until I found out it was my MIL's favorite perfume. Kinda ruined it for me...

Another bad one:

Getting in elevator at the light rail station, and smelling the scent of a strong cleaner that was used in an unsuccessful attempt to remove the urine after some idiot used the place as a restroom.

I was watching "Dirty Jobs With Mike Rowe" just this weekend and there was a piece on that very topic. Apparently some guys like to pee down the elevator shaft. As Mike commented, "Well, who wouldn't?"

For some reason, the last day of gradeschool always smelled the same to me each year as a kid. It would always be early June in the morning - the smell of dew, grass, new plants, etc...

I don't know why, but for some reason the smell would always hit me in the face on that day and it was something I'd notice immediately. For me it helped mark the end of school for that year and the beginning of summer.

As far as men's cologne goes...

I like Polo (original green bottle).

Have a bunch of others, but always wear it.

The scent lingers, and has permeated my truck and home!

Just as I enjoy a pine forest, so I enjoy it.

RALPH LAUREN created POLO cologne in 1978. It is the result of the following top fragrance notes: basil, juniper and cumin. The middle notes are: thyme, pine and carnation and the base of the fragrance is: amber, patchouli and moss.

My baseball glove, Fresh steamed rice, cookies fresh outta the oven, new car smell, ginger, cilantro, limes, toasted coconut, lemongrass, mint, the smell of the rain as soon as it starts raining on a dry road, any fine wine,an old horse stable. Thats a random enough list I think LOL. Could you imagine not having a sense of smell ? That would just be terrible.

I love the smell of real Patchouli from C.O. bigelow. The cheap knock off imitation crap is a little offputing, but the real stuff is a "panty dropper" with the ladies. Ya can't over do it, but if done right.......they love it. Just sayin.
