Congrats on the upcoming acquisition- you’re going to love it! Can’t say I’ve seen any issues with using the Delugs springbars on the white gold case. No wear or anything that I’ve seen. Enjoy!

ALS is using tiny tubes inside of the lugholes to protect them from wearing out when using other springbars than gold.

Tubes of what material?

I'll have to have a look.

I don‘t know the material of the tubes, but my guess is that they are replaceable before the true lughole wears out ;)

The tubes are placed within various models' (mostly platinum, or heavy watches such as Double Split, Lange 31, etc.) lugs to prevent the wear can be caused by the bars.

And just like spring bars, they're made of steel.

It's not clear to me if Lange ever replaces these sleeves (or if they ever need replacement). I think Lange would have to remove the soldered lugs from the middle case in order to get to the sleeves I'm not sure if they ever actually do that.

Yes, apparently Lange introduced these in 2004 with the Double Split. I had asked Lange if these sleeves were made from steel and I was told that they were "titanium, for stability reasons." We got 2 different answers. I guess they are one or the other!

I looked at my L1 during a strap change and did notice sleeves in it! At least I hope they are!

That was a rose gold Lange 1, correct?

If I remember correctly, my whitegold Lange 1 and my whitegold Saxonia 37 have those tubes as well. That would speak against the weight correlation

It'd be great to field-test this information, and I was curious which (if any) Saxonia and 1815 models have these sleeves. I was told the sleeves were in models "from the Lange 1 up" (size-wise) since 2004. But it's hard for owners to verify this because it involves removing the strap.

Unfortunately the brand has been "discovered." The results of the May 27-28 Phillips Hong Kong auction were pretty nuts!

Indeed - the difference between last year's HWK / Lumen results and now is pretty crazy though!

Hey there,

You can check Christie's, Phillips auctions, and some watches, especially the Lumen and HWK line's performances compared to last year.

As well as the Antiquorum results to an extent.

Oops, sorry I missed this earlier. Yes, it is a RG Lange 1 (192.032). I change straps a LOT.

It's official: Other than Wempe in NYC, there are no more Lange ADs in North America. Lange boutiques are now the only brick-and-mortar points of sale in this region, though several boutiques are owned by partners rather than directly by Lange/Richemont.

Also, the NYC boutique will move a bit south, into the space currently occupied by the Chopard boutique when it moves even further south.

Wonder if wempe will lose ALS as well. Passed by there a couple of days ago and they had only one piece.

I wonder if Zadok Jewelers in Houston lost their AD status.

I saw that too. Was there Tuesday. Asked one of the salespeople if they were moving their Lange display, and he replied, "No, that's all we have." It was a little Lange 1 with a guilloche dial. I've never seen their Lange case empty before now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wempe loses AD status in the next year or so. And in any case, Wempe won't be receiving the more complicated Langes, from what I understand. Not sure if we'll see any chronographs, Zeitwerks, etc., at Wempe again.

Looks like website isn’t updated…but makes sense. My AD went from having 20 pieces to 1. I assume they can still sell existing stock as new with warranty?

Good question. Lange often buys back pieces when they close dealers, but I don't know if that's just some of the time or almost all of the time. You may want to ask the dealer, to see what they say.

I'd imagine the website will be updated at some point soon. Many closures happened in a short time frame. More ADs will probably soon close in other regions.
