Blue Skydweller From Out of the “Blue”

Have a fantastic history with an AD and decided to venture out of my sport collection finally and get something that was a bit dressier, but more unique than a datejust. Decided on getting a skydweller in blue on an oyster bracelet.

Fast forward 3 months and my AD calls out of nowhere saying the Skydweller is in… woah. I thought for sure it was one of the other watches on order and it completely caught me off guard as he said they only get 1-2 blue a year. I was expecting a year or so wait. I’ve been waiting for a ladies datejust for 6 months so none of this was registering for me as reality, so when he told me it was on jubilee rather than oyster i’m not even sure I heard it to be honest.

I paid over the phone and he shipped to me that day and it arrived the next morning. When I opened it up I saw that it was jubilee. Then it hit me that he told me and in my daze of confusion and excitement I completely disregarded that information. Oh well!

I’m sure oyster is what most people like, but I have to say that this watch on a jubilee band just works… in person. The photos online and even on Rolex website don’t do it justice. It is much more balanced, and looks to me, even more of a natural fit than on a dj41. The geometry just works. The fluted bezel and jubilee really blend well together and it helps with creating a nice form fit even with the additional case weight on top. It does have more of a “bling” factor but it’s a nice departure from most of my sport models so I am completely smitten. And the blue dial… yeah, it’s as good as advertised.

LOL, seriously, that is a beautiful watch, congrats! It's number one on my list.

Hey, as long as other watches are getting crossed of the list it makes the wait a lot more bearable!

Congratulations, OP. Did you actually have to sell your shoes to help pay for the watch? Or, are you just hoping for a date with a foot fetisher.
