Everytime this thread pops up, if I am not already wearing it, I feel the need to go and put on my 16600...

Got my 2005 (D serial) 16600 today. The bezel is more difficult to rotate than I expected. Is that normal for this vintage?

They are definitley harder than the newer ceramic ones. It shouldn’t be super difficult to turn or anything, but it does have a little bit of resistance.

Such cool watches!!! I have scrolled through all 29 pages of this thread and decided that a Sea-Dweller will be my next purchase.

The best watch, full-stop.
I bought mine new in 2005 & have worn it almost daily for the last 18 years, though my 16570 and 126710BLNR have been taking up some wrist time more recently.
My 16600 been everywhere and still looks almost new, it is my go to when travelling, diving and doing any tasks where there is a higher risk of wear and tear.
My first Rolex and will be the last I own, the kids can have the rest when the time comes but not this one ;-)
If I can figure out how to post a pic I will.

126600 vs 116600

In the last 12 months I was able to join the Sea Dweller club with a 126600 SD43. Within a few months I was able to locate a 116600 SD4K and purchased it as well. I wanted the SD4K due to the smaller size and it did not have a cyclops. Wearing both in a rotation over time I decided the 116600 4K was easier to wear in my opinion. BTW I have a 7.25 " wrist. I have since sold the 126600 but if that was all I owned I would have been happy with it and would happily wear it as a daily wear. Here is a picture comparing both.
