Mine look as good as the ones that get daily spa treatments, I'm betting.
Oh man. I was with you till the word “vigorously.”

My strategy is to clean the watch every day. When I get home, I wash my hands with dish soap, lather up the watch, rinse it off, and dry with a clean towel. Occasionally I use a soft brush to work the soap into the crevices.

A watch sits very close to hands, and hands get yucky very quickly if you don't wash them!

Soap and water with a soft brush. Dry with a micro-fiber cloth.

Dawn blue soap and water. Use a makeup brush instead of toothbrush for softer bristles.

I use baby shampoo to clean my watches. Rinses clean with no residue. Love it. For some reason I feel like dish soap is too aggressive.

I got the baby shampoo tip on this forum when I first joined and I've never used anything else.
