GMT Bezel Change

I have read about some of you changing your bezel on your GMT from blue/red to black or black /red and vise versa.

How exactly do you change the bezel?
I would be way too nervous trying to do it without some "been there, done that" type of guidance.

Do any of you step by step(with pictures) of how to do this procedure?

I have a GMT II red/black and one day it might be an interesting way of keeping things fresh looking........

Hi Larry,

A word of advice. As easy as Jocke may have made that look, if you haven't done it before, I wouldn't advise you try it out on your own. You may have results you could regret.

Take it in to your AD if you're not sure of the procedure.

Cheers - JJ

Hi Larry,
I have done it on my GMT II, do it very slowly & carefully, as JJ says , Yes you may regret it later.
An AD will do it for you free.

Thanks guys.....

No way would I ever attempt this unless I was absolutely sure and comfortable with doing it. I love the watch too much to mess it up.

I love the red/black bezel, thats why I bought it.

Anybody got a faulex GMT for sale so I could try

I guess I will have to wait for the TT GMT Anniv to be availble here for my black bezeled GMT....

it's not too hard to do...

I have done this on my GMT a couple of times without problems. I have not tried it on my Sub yet, but will soon.

the only difference between the directions posted above, and what I would do is to snap the bezel on without the new insert.

When you snap the bezel back on, snap it one without the insert. This way you can insure that the click spring wont get caught under the bezel. If it does, no problem, just slide it back with a small screw driver.

Check out this link and the directions are pretty clear.

Snapping the bezel insert into the Bezel is pretty easy after the bezel is snapped back onto the watch head (if not, you have the wrong bezel insert or a bad aftermarket; there is a significant difference between inserts for sapphire or synthetic).

Good luck,

-Sheldon
