6536 Stem won’t set time

Hello everyone.

I have a 6536 which runs fine. However, I got it out to wear this morning and needed to set time. Stem set in position fine but upon moving the mechanism became stiff and eventually stopped moving the hands. The watch is running and the stem sets it position just fine.

Any one with a similar experience? Currently just letting it wind down in the watch case

Carey

Try setting counterclockwise. If that works, it just needs a drop of locktite.

Thanks. I did try and move counter clockwise. Don’t want to move

Good news! I got to move and set! The stem is just very stiff on turning the hands.

Good to hear! That's a LOT of watch. You should look into a service if it was that difficult to set the time.

TBH, I don't think it's particularly good news. Very stiff or not turning ... either way, it's still a problem that needs to be addressed by servicing the watch, IMO.
