Details

Dial: Early matte dial with tritium hour markers in excellent condition. Original, untouched hour/minute/seconds hands. There is one small ‘dot’ on the minute hand near the post. Correct open 6 / 9 date wheel.

Movement: Automatic.

Case / Crown: Case is in excellent condition with strong chamfers and deep factory finish (brushed lugs). Very minor blemishes on the case sides. Serial and Reference numbers are crisp. Original crown.

Crystal / Insert: Sapphire crystal is excellent. Original insert is excellent with the tritium pearl matching the dial’s hour marker lume. Correct unidirectional bezel.

Bracelet: Rolex 93150 bracelet is super tight. Ten links, with one extra link and screw. Diver extension. Correct 501B endpieces. Clasp code with ‘G’ stamp code (1982).

Accessories: Interior & exterior boxes, Rolex Submariner booklet dated 1982, Rolex anchor 1000 ft / 300 m.

Comments / Condition: In 2015 I acquired this gorgeous Ref. 16800 from the family of the original owner. Over the years I’ve enjoyed wearing this robust Submariner on many occasions, it’s a terrific travel watch and/or daily wearer. With the recent acquisition of another matte dial 16800, it’s time to let this beauty find a new owner.
In 2017 I had the crystal and gaskets replaced. Service history is unknown, but the watch is keeping very accurate time.
