White or Black SS Daytona - which is more desirable?

First time poster, looking for help & opinion on SS Daytona - white or black?

I rec'd a call from an AD about 2 months ago stating they had a white SS Daytona and I passed on it. Went to Las Vegas last week, walked into an AD and asked if they had a black SS Daytona, they had just rec'd one and didn't keep a waiting list. I knew enough to not leave it there, but have to admit that I'm not nearly as familiar with Rolex as the people in this forum. I have a SS AirKing that I bought 4 years ago...so now this is my second Rolex. Did I make a mistake in not picking up the white one? Or is the black equally as desirable? I initially thought the white was a bit sharper but when I saw the black one in person, I was impressed and bought it. That said, it's been with me for a week and is still sitting in the box with all the plastic protectors etc on it. I guess I'm looking for some insight from those of you, here, that may know better than me before I take it out and put it on. Last question, it's a V Serial nbr, how is that diff't from others I've read about here (M, F, etc)?

Looking forward to whatever insight you all may have.

Regards,
BM

I prefer the look of the black face SS Daytona and personally think you did right by grabbing it instead of the white. I also don't think one is necessarily more desirable than the other but more a matter of personal taste. If I were in your place I'd get those protective stickers off that bad boy and start enjoying it! Congratulations and let's see some pics!

In some places around the world, one dial commands a premium over the other, but in my experience, it's down to personal preference, there won't be a huge demand for a specific dial over the other.

It's as desirable as your desire for it. The best one is the one you like the best, after all you have to wear it.

It's really personal preference. I like the white dial more but that's me. If you're happy with the black then take off those stickers and start enjoying it! Congrats!

Black is favored in Asia, White elsewhere. In Japan it isn't rare to see a $1000 premium on black dial.

But it really should be about whatever you like.

Popular opinion usually sways more toward white, but I prefer the black face myself. You MUST choose what you want and make yourself happy, not any of us!!!

It seems like whatever dial you buy, you want the other. It seems like it's about 50/50 here as this has been brought up many times with poll results you may be able to find from previous threads.
I agree though, you need to take those stickers off and get it out into the wild.
Congrats btw.

It's up to the individual. I have white, it's what the AD had when he called. I think the black looks better. I see way more white dials in the metal, maybe 10 to 1.

The white face SS daytona is one of the best looking white face watch that Rolex makes. Naturally, lights reflects best off that color which makes it very readable. It is also more rare in terms of what Rolex comes out with from a design stand-point. Most of Rolex sport watches are black face. I own the black face SS daytona and would also love to own the white face one day. If you're torn between the two colors then what your feelings are telling you is to have both one day. That way you can't go wrong right? LOL Either way, best wishes and wear it in good health. Congrats!

I have both and prefer the white as it seems to be easier to read. The black is seriously sexy though...

I have a black. Somehow the lume is not effective at night. Not sure if it's better on a white. But I still prefer the black and I think it's less "catchy" than the white.

I like black dial watches better in general. I feel like they go well with shirt (usually white or light color) and suit. They also look sporty and classy at the same time. But that's just my 2 cents. For Daytona, black or white dials - they all look great anyhow.

I was on the same situation when I bought my black dial daytona, I was offered white or black, but in the end I chose the black one. After wearing my watch for several months, I happen to visit my AD again, and this time they showed me again the white dial, after looking and glancing at the watch for several minutes, I realized that the black dial is more attractive to me, again like everybody had said, it depends on what you like. They are both desirable watch. If only I coudl have them both.

I love both the black and white face. However, in this neck of the woods the black is more desirable.
