I'll start off with my GW-M5610U-1JF, which I chose over the more expensive GW-5000U for its retro colours and lighter weight, though I'll probably end up getting the latter anyway at some point.

Great thread! I have way too many G-Shocks, but since you mentioned the GW-5000 in your opening post, I’ll show that one first. Probably my all-around favorite G-Shock.

Love the 5610 too! Arguably the only watch a person would ever need.

Great idea for a thread, Adam! Huge G-Shock fan here, have been since childhood. Here are two currently in my collection:

Great pic Dave. Do you get the radio reception every night there in NYC? We're towards the edge of the zone in HK, and get the signal about four times a week. I still get kind of a kick out of seeing RCVD on the dial.

Thanks Rommel, sadly I think my wrist is only big enough for squares and Casioaks, but might try on a Frogman, Rangeman or Mudmaster in-store sometime just to be sure.

Maybe! Not a G-Shock, but I bought this one that is 48x49mm back in 1992 in Hong Kong and it's still going strong after many years in a drawer and a new battery. It even tells the year, which is kind of cool if perhaps not really necessary.

No, I’ve never received the radio signal here in NYC. I only ever see the RCVD when I’m traveling. (Of course, with my Bluetooth models I can cheat and get it through my phone.)

I've been thinking about getting a Bluetooth Casioak but I'm hoping (most probably in vain) that there will be a Solar/Multiband 6 version at some point, as I really like the idea of a self-setting, self-charging watch that's not connected to the Internet, or to my phone.

Very cool, I've never seen one of those before! With a few vintage Casio's in the collection I enjoy and appreciate discovering different models. My major issue with the other watches such as ProTrek's etc is the lack of durability. Sure, they can take a beating and last decades (still shocked by this, but shouldn't be). However, with the ability in some cases to switch both the strap and outer casing of a G-Shock, the latter wins for me:











This is likely going to be my next G-Shock:

I had no idea, thanks for sharing this and letting me know!

The current and soon to be older version still appeals to me more for some reason. To me its more like my original G-Shock but the new one is very cool.
