Watch collection should be a fun and meaningful experience (at least for me… I got lucky with 2). One I always wanted and the other when my son was born. I would love to buy more for each milestone (still need another for my 2nd son) but waiting 2-3yrs from ADs is crazy esp when they don’t even remember you

Yes I can go grey which I might but also that extra money can be used for other things

Australian pricing increase on average 7-8% that’s steep! I’m lucky I managed to get two allocations in Dec 23 !

You’re right there. It is very fun, I enjoy it. Agreed about grey, they are over the top in Canada. Watchfinder.ca prices are insanely high….

In August 2023 my AD advised me of a potential large increase at the start of 2024 and I doubted him thinking it was sales talk. Anyhow not long afterwards he offered me a Bluesy for A$23,200 at retail which I accepted. Not that I would have declined the watch but seeing the Bluesy is now priced at $25,200 I’m glad his call came at the right time! That price rise is about 8% and it’s steep!

Why is everyone is shocked about a price increase?
A Submariner went from $150 to $10,000 over its lifespan. Want to guess how? Price increases!

You know where you could have put your Rolex money to preserve its buying power?

Thanks your insightful contributions.
If only we were as financially affluent as you, we could eliminate the meaninglessness of these constraints imposed by costs.

I just got my Explorer II on Dec 7th. It’s now $1000 CDN more. I’m sure glad it came in when it did.

Whatever was in stock gets marked up to the new price. A win for the ADs.

Not for retired models like the previous Daytonas.

I don't think that's correct. I was offered a 116713 that had been discontinued for years and the MSRP was like 14,700 for it at the AD. Same as the current root beer at the time.

That's where I'm at too. Just enjoy what you already have. Prices only go one way and that's up. Hopefully this cools things off for a few months. Tired of rude ADs as well, so they can just sit on their inventory. Sorry for those new to the market. My first new Sub from an AD was in the 5k range 15 years ago, so it goes.

No increase in the US on Rolex watches. There's a small increase on some Tudor watches (2 tones , yellow gold , some titanium , and 2 specific ss models).

I think there is an explanation for that: look at the super strong Swiss Franc. Rolex production is 100% in Switzerland, so in Swiss Francs. That is a problem for us here in Switzerland. The strong Swiss Franc will hurt our export business. Everything will be much more expensive abroad. On the Rolex Swiss site, the prices remained the same as far as I see it.

Thank you for posting this

We’ve had a significant increase, but I suspect it’s related to our weak dollar mostly.

Another brand I buy quite regularly sent an email to its Canadian customers basically stating their price increase was mainly due to our weak dollar.

There have been a tiny and limited models list price increase in Switzerland , for Rolex as well as Tudor watches.

As an example , MSRP increase for all Daydate models :
