I'm not sure how this is Rolex Watch related...
Personal finance is a personal choice. Some like to use credit cards and get card advantages, some like the Dealer financing... For luxury items, I like to use a card for the miles etc., then pay it off when the bill comes in....... I don't think that it is prudent to pay anything additional in finance charges or interest...

I use a debit card, that way I don't have to see my money go away... It just gets sucked outta my account electromologically.

Credit Card for me, almost all the time. Then, pay it off within 1-2 months. Best way to do it IMO ! (next to cash of course).
If you don't have the money, then keep saving until you have what you want, then buy it IMO. |

I think some have said that an AD will give a better discount for cash...

With any luxury item, I try to have the cash in the bank to back up the purchase.

Tesco Credit Card for me, ugly blue thing, no glitz or razamatazz.
Watches, telly, PC, deposit on cars, food, clothes, tickets, holidays, everything really. Pay it off when the statement arrives same as the rest of you. Points make prizes and last year's Xmas was paid for with the reward points.

Like Larry said, it really does boil down to personal preference and what you are comfortable with. For most products, if the seller is offering 0% financing, I am all over it, like white on rice. To me, it's free money and I know that I will pay it off before the promo period ends.

cash or credit??
While I do not know anything about your financial means, Buying a Rolex is not chump change for a lot of us. Some scrimp and save, others charge, some do a combo of both. If you have the urge and just have to wear a Rolex now, then using credit may be the way to go. Some major stores offer different financing plans from 20 month no interest to maybe 9.9 % interest. The problem with that is most of those stores won't give you a nickle off if you get the interest free deal. So,you end up paying msrp.
No matter what you do, I wish you the best with your Rolex dream. Now that I own one, I know I want another. I see a GMT in my future. |

Cash only for toys. Or on the credit card and paid off completely the day I get the bill.

I used my credit card to buy the watch and get my rewards points and then I used cash to pay the credit card off before I accrued intrest and I got a $100 gas credit card as my reward!! Hehehe! I wouldn't buy a luxury item like a watch unless you have the funds to buy it. Save up and get the watch when you have the money. |

Well since I do mortgages for a living, I would say you would refinance your house to get the CASH out to buy as many Rolex as you want
![]() ![]() Most definitely cash only or the card and payoff immediately. Rolex is pricey enough without having to add credit card finance charges on top of it all...

If it's something I don't TECHNICALLY need like, say, a Rolex (I know! Don't hurt me!) it will be a cash purchase.
Borrowing money or going in debt to buy something like that is not smart ![]() And my AD gives a discount on top for cash, as they don't have to pay CC fees. ![]() |

paying on credit because u don't have the money, or the means to pay for this thing at any given instant, is not a good idea at all. Really, most people reach for a rolex because they CAN afford it, actual payment method at the checkout is done many different ways for many different personal reasons. That old addage defininately applies to rolex purchases, "if u can't pay, u can't play!" Good luck with your payment method,

Big purchases on the credit card as I get cash back when I use it. When the bill comes in, pay it off in full.
I have made use of interest free credit and a recent purchase was in cash. Peter |

I quit smoking, saved up the cigarette money and bought my Sub cash.
I didn't have to wait but I did anyway just so I could justify it by "it would have gone up in smoke anyway"...
