When did you finish your Rolex journey?
Been quite content on the watch front which is rare for me as there’s always another (there actually is right now AP RO 37mm, but not chasing too hard for it).
But I came to the realization recently that it feels like my Rolex journey is nearing the end. I have a DJ 36, an Explorer, a GMT BLNR, and a WG Daytona. I thought about a day date as well as a few other pieces (tried em all on), but not for me. Super happy with Rolex and what I have, and just don’t have plans for more. When did you finish your Rolex journey? |

Dont think that you will ever finish - Rather, perfectly normal to realise that there is a lot of great opportunites out there to explore. Also fun to try something different.
... And who knows? maybe its time for another Rolex somewhere out there in the future. |

2020 was the last time I bought a Rolex, a TT blue Sub from a local AD. Doesn't mean I won't buy again, but I'm here essentially for hearing the stories from other watch owners and the sharing of knowledge/experience.

2022…when I realized that the classic car I’ve wanted my entire life cost the same amount of money as my “grail,” ie a platinum DD.
3 SS, 1 PM, and 1 vintage Tudor snowflake Sub are sufficient to meet my needs (as if one can even credibly use that word…any reliable watch tells time), and I’d rather spend money on my classic cars (as I’ve since purchased another, the first convertible I’ve ever owned in my life). I love driving, going to cars and coffees and car shows as a participant and not as a spectator, and sharing the experiences with other vintage car enthusiasts. Enjoying my cars with my sons and husband is something I tremendously enjoy. I enjoy my watches, but it is something very personal. This was the first summer I had my convertible, and the joy I felt driving it around, going to dinner with my husband etc. is so great! |

Not done yet. Still want an 18K Submariner LN, a Seadweller on a black Everest strap for the beach, and a YG Daytona on OF. That would conclude my Rolex journey, unless of course Rolex adds an adjustable bracelet to the Day-Date.
I would then want to add: Lange Up/Down Datograph Cartier Santos Large in YG AP Calendar in Rose Gold Patek 5970 (though perhaps too similar to - and far more $$$ - than the Lange)

i have a DD and DJ and i'm pretty much content. none of the other lines interest me but if i had money to blow i wouldn't mind getting another DD in a different metal or maybe with a diamond bezel
also have a steel RO so whatever else i'd want at this point is just gonna be unaffordable |

Nowhere near the finish line yet lol. If I had a BLRO meteorite, a fluted, ice blue platinum DD40 with baguettes, the new YG Deepsea, a wg sub and a green SkyD I’d be on track to wrapping up LOL.
Until next year’s releases….it never stops lol.

I’m guessing by the watches listed that you’ve mostly bought them in the last few years. I’d wager that you’ll be back. Imagine how different the catalogue will look 20 years from now. Think you’ll still have those four 20-year-old watches?

I bought my first in 2020 and I now have seven. Starting with #3, every one was going to be my last one!

I haven’t had the urge to buy another Rolex for a few years now. I’m sure there will come a time when I do again

Got a call for a TT root beer couple of weeks ago and right now really feel I am good with current collection.
Sub 124060 : the perfect daily watch. Explorer 36 mm: perfect under the radar watch, also works well with formal attire. TT rootbeer: the perfect weekend watch. With a pano lunar on black leather strap, an omega speed master chronoscope and a JLC master control geographic on brown leather strap to complete the collection, really happy with what I have. When my friendly local AD lost its Rolex franchise and the big ADs started making judgements about whether or not I was a worthy client.

When did you finish your Rolex journey?
Never even started. Preferred the tool watch look of many IWCs in the 1990s and early 2000s and then went on to get a few Pateks.

I am content. Rolex wise, I have what I want. What I don't have is a Seiko SSC947P1. I'm waiting for stock to arrive.

I’m happy at the moment so I would not say I’m finished. I’m on hiatus … until they come out with something I like.
