It just depends. You've got to weigh whether the changes made in the 12 series is worth it to YOU, and no one else.

I traded a black EXP2 for the 22 series when it was introduced b/c I hated the phantom hands. I'm presently considering trading my LV 'so-called mark I' bezel, b/c I think the newer bezels have a much more appealing shade of green (IMO of course). So...is that crazy? Well, to the non-watch population, and probably a good portion of watch lovers, absolutely, 100% batshit crazy, in fact.

But, as they won't be coming over to my house to wear my watches, I guess it doesn't matter, does it?

I upgrade if there are improvements I like. in 11 vs 12 series for Sub, I liked dimension more plus increased power reserve, so did upgrade.

Can you send to RSC and will they swap dial? Sounds like they do it for certain datejusts and presidents.

No I wouldn’t want an after aftermarket dial, I like to keep to the original even though it would probably be a few thousand cheaper to get an aftermarket dial. My watch is a 2012 model, Rolex switched to the flat blue dial in 2008 & I don’t think the flat blue was very popular so in 2013 they reverted back to the blue sunburst dial. I reckon it will cost around €7,000 to €8,000 to upgrade, I am just waiting on the blue sunburst dial to become available on watchfinder Europe

Good luck, I would love a blue bezel/black dial sub in steel. Things that will never happen for $1000...

I paid €31,250 for the Sub I have from watchfinder in August last year, that was before the Rolex price crashed, I actually thought it had the sunburst dial, but I didn’t do enough research on the 116618LB, but I know that I will lose big time on the part exchange but I am prepaid to take that hit for the dial I want. This will probably be the last Rolex that I buy anyway
