Cartier Tank Not Sitting Correct

I’ve been wearing this watch for a year now but it has never been comfortable. It either sits too high or too low. Is my watch strap too short?

I really want to like this but the experience has been subpar.

My wife had the same issue so she ended up picking up a tang buckle and had Aaron at Combat Straps make her a new strap.

Ah man. That’s unfortunate. So she never used the deployment clasp ever again? It’s a lost cause? What a bummer. I also have a black straps that I have not opened. If the experience is the same, that means I just wasted my money. I bought 2 straps and the buckle. =/

Couple of things to try:
1. Reverse the strap; it will open in the opposite direction but you might find it sits better
2. Wear it tighter, punch another hole in the strap if needed.

Agree, try reversing deployant.

Also... Wet the strap and use a watch 'cushion' shaped like your wrist for it to dry/reshape. If you have scan / print capability, 3D print your wrist instead of using a generic cushion.

So I realized what the issue is. Where I circled in the picture wants to sit at the end of my wrist. But when it does it pushes the watch head way too far up my wrist. I might need to take this back to a professional like Cartier for them to diagnose the issue.

not sure if it'll help, but i wear my Santos strap opposite of how you've got your strap oriented. i just found it more comfy, because of the shape of the deployant.

Yeah, I agree. Swap the 6:00 side over to the 12:00 side. I think they're backward on your watch.

Is that your left hand? If it is, then it looks like you have the strap installed the wrong way…how did that happen? Did you have the strap swapped by the AD when you purchased it?

Take it in to a Cartier AD and let them take a look. You will probably need a different strap. Don't punch a hole in the OEM strap as if the watch does not fit better I assume it will be sold/traded and no one wants a damaged strap.

No she has a pretty small wrist (14cm) so the deployant clasp took up a lot of real estate on her wrist. As others have suggested, swapping the strap around may help.

I had a similar problem. Went to the Cartier boutique in Wynn’s Las Vegas. The manager took some measurements and sent off a request to Cartier NYC, then Paris, three months later I received my new strap. It was three hundred dollars but worth it

I very recently ordered a tang buckle and a strap for my CPCP tank. I could never get the watch centered and staying there on the deployant.

I've visited with the watch/strap expert at my boutique . . . and my deployant is oriented the same as yours. If it was on the "wrong side" as some have said here I think she'd have said something.

Hey everyone. So I flipped the strap around so that it sits better. However, it still sits terribly. The people at a Cartier told me that my strap might be too short and I need a longer strap. They didn’t have a tech there to help me during Christmas. I’ll just continue wear it as is for now. I am bummed though that it’s not more comfortable. Please let me know if anyone has had this issue and solved it.

Get on the phone with another Cartier Boutique and get the strap you need in the right size.

Sorry to hear it’s still giving you an issue OP.

I’ve never had a lot of luck with watches on straps for some reason. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a deployant or pin buckle, they all sort of sit the same way on my wrist as in your first picture.

I guess I’m just a bracelet guy.
