I cannot get over how nice that FOIS looks on the wrist. That is absolutely beautiful.

FOIS and I much prefer the all brushed bracelet of the hesalite.
Those polished links are a dealbreaker for me.

That’s the perfect combination. Love the 57 bracelet. Where/ how did you buy it?

Is there any movement where the springbars insert? or though the endlinks?
Or where the endlinks meet the inside of the lugs?

Got it straight from my AD, which is remote from me. They put in on and shipped me the set.

The end links fit solid, no wiggle, no slop. It’s a nice setup.

If it could be of interest, below are photos I took of the two watches at the boutique on calf leather straps.

I don’t seem to be bonding with the FOIS… I can’t work out why but it’s not for me it seems.

Maybe it's too thick and you want a clear caseback?

Moonwatch for me. FOIS is a nice looking watch but suffers daytona problems - reflective hands with minimal lume make it more difficult to read compared to the bright white hands. There's a reason astronauts asked for those changes.

^^^ True ^^^

Flat, polished hands disappear against a dark background in low light.

Agree. The advantage of MOTM in its great legibility.

Well, it's that time of life again, when my wife buys me some kick-ass watch that I don't deserve. This time it's this new FOIS on that fantastic bracelet. She sent payment this evening to our favorite Omega Boutique. Might be a week or so before it arrives, so if you're looking for me I'll be sitting at the window, watching for the FedEx truck

The FOIS dial has such a nice sheen to it.

I still lean standard moonwatch however. I struggle with the lume on the FOIS. Maybe I need to see it in person.

I traded my moonwatch and purchased a FOIS. I much prefer for the FOIS, but think the Moonwatch is the way to go for most people. I happen to much prefer how the FOIS sits on my wrist with the slimmer lug profile vs. the moonwatch.

Pros:
Dial color
easier to wind
Generally not a fan of faux patina, but this works well

Cons:
The crystal is hyper-reflective
seconds hand difficult to read
overall legibility not nearly as good as moonwatch

All that said I love it - if you have not had a moonwatch previously that might be the way to go unless you feel strongly that you prefer the FOIS. If it's close, go with the moonwatch.

Congratulations - bet this week is going to drag. It’s a great watch, you’ll love it. I enjoy mine more than I ever thought I would.

I've gone back and forth on this but ended up voting for the Moonwatch.

I'm in a similar predicament and want to add an Omega back into the collection this year. I really like the FOIS but I just feel long term I would get tired of the dial and lume color.

The 3861 on the other hand is extremely versatile and legible. That's my pick and the one I'm going after this year. I just can't decide white vs black dial

Moonwatch vs 2024 FOiS

For me, the only reason to get the moonwatch would be legibility. If that isn’t an issue then it’s the FOIS all day long.
