Which size Day-Date?

I went to my local Rolex AD to try on a Day-Date 40 (silver dial/Romans).

While there, I also tried on the 36mm (white dial/stick markers) to get a better idea of the size difference between the two. My wrist size is 6.75" for reference.

How does the 40mm look on my wrist compared to the 36mm?

DD is at its best at 36 on any wrist, IMHO.

36 by a mile. Your wrists are too small for the 40.

Either will work. I have the same size wrist and went with the 40. With that being said, if I had it all over again, I would go 36. Just something classic about it.

I think, the 36 version looks far better on you.

I think we have about the same size wrist as that's how a DD40 looks on me. 36mm looks good, but I personally prefer the 40mm. Some may feel the 40 is a little big on a smaller wrist, but I like that look. There is no right or wrong, but the "right" one is the one that YOU like best.

We have a similar size wrist and we can wear either size. For me, I'd only buy a 36. It wears more elegantly imo.

If you are used to 40mm+ watches the 36 feels way too small at the beginning but your perspective will adjust quickly and if you are like me, you will settle on the fact that the 36 fits perfectly. I'd only buy a DD, DJ or OP in 36mm.

I think you can definitely wear the 40 without issue but possibly the 36 looks a little classier on you.

you could pull off both but i'm personally not a fan of the 40. every time i see it on someone it just looks a bit outrageous, probably has a lot to do with the bracelet being so wide which makes it wear bigger. i don't think this is a watch that should be so in your face like the 40 feels

smaller sizes are coming back anyway and it just shows the 36 will forever be a classic

Won't be a popular opinion at all, but I feel like I'm the only person who thinks the fluted bezel on the 40 looks tacky. It looks like a Reese's peanut butter cup. It's noticeably more in your face than the 36 (as is the rest of the watch).

I have a datejust not at day date level yet lol but I went with 36 mm have similar size wrist to you . Classic size more comfortable and the fluted bezel in the larger size is more loud imo. Go 36

I've noticed so many men shave the hair off their arms on TRF - why is this?

Which size Day-Date?

36mm looks better on you. And it’s a perfectly proportioned watch.

36mm on my 7 3/8” wrist

I like the 36mm better here, as I do on most wrists. Both stunning watches, but 36mm looks perfect.

I voted 40mm without looking at the pictures because I have been watching concerts all afternoon and drinking beer.

Even though I may be drunk I think I am right.

They both look good on you, depends on you do you more dial or less dial on wrist?
The 36mm is the classic size and I used rock a 36mm back in the day. The 36mm is making a comeback. I like the 41mm that is now discontinued or the 40 because of the fuller dial on the wrist,

Either or for you. Congrats

Cheers,

36mm. I don't think the 36mm DD will ever look "too small" on someone, whereas the 40mm can look like it is trying too hard. Part of the beauty of 36mm is letting that president bracelet get some of the attention.
