DILEMMA ! cheap 16520 or new 116710 ?

It must be sods law , I'm about to pull the trigger on a GMTIIc since last saturday ( I have been shopping around to get one from the US with the favourable exchange rate at the moment ) but I thought with some hackling I might get close with a "national" watch , no hassle with customs or imposing a cousin to wear and walk it in .
I just received a call from a good buddy , that remembered me saying once " If you sell your 16520 one day let me know " He needs cash TODAY and lets me have it for 7000 EURO . Mint T-reg white dial , overall good condition with 2005 service documents ( no original doc , no original box ) . What should I do ? I have a F-reg 116520 white dial
Option 1 :Buy and keep it , but that would mean no GMTIIc for a while
Option 2 :Buy and sell it again
Option 3 :Buy keep it and sell 116520 to buy 116710

What would such a 16520 fetch net nowadays ( I have no experience with "flee-bay" and I believe that there are a lot of fees and PayPal on such items .
I must act quickly

Interesting dilemma Tristan... here is my opinion.

Unless you really desire the Zenith movement, since you already have a modern Daytona, I would get the GMT. I sold my GMT to help finance my Daytona, and absolutely love it, but really do miss that classic GMT look, and keep telling myself I am going to purchase a Ceramic any day now. I don't think you would get much for the Zenith, when I say "much", I mean that they are not incredibly rare, I don't know how much of a profit you can hope for, (of course, I have no idea how much Euros are either ). I'd get the GMT, enjoy it, and not worry about the hassle of whether or not you're going to be earning much profit trying to sell the Zenith.

I'm leaning more towards what you just said , Paul . Just between somewhere wanting to help out my friend and thinking that a 16520 might gain more in value then my 116520 . At the other hand I never bought a watch with "investment" in mind as I do believe that you have to be an expert in buying the right thing at the right price regardless you actually like the watch to be able to do so . Its either forget about it or sell my 116520 to buy the 116710 . It needs servicing and a polish , and for what I see the prices for a used 116520 are not what they used to be .
I know for sure if he is that desperate , which he must be , he will leave the watch at 6000/6500 , but being it from a friend I cannot do that .

Thank you very much for the chart : that just blew the "investment" consideration right out of the water . Thank you Mike , thank you TRF . I was very close to make a mistake .
My 116520 been a good friend and was with me since it's "birth" and will stay that way . It will along with my SDDS welcome a new "stable mate" in form of a brand new GMTIIc very soon now . ( must get the 1603 out of the bank and send it off with the Daytona for a well deserved pampering at the RSC soon )
