I have a datejust with lug holes.... and my watch kit's screw driver is slightly too big for it.

Most men's bracelets take a 1.6mm screwdriver...

I recently acquired an old jubilee and am frustrated. I've tried precision screwheads as small as 3/64 and it still doesn't do the job (I believe that is much smaller than 1.6mm). I don't see how a razorblade could even fit into the screw groove. Perhaps older bracelets are not really screws? I'm about to just call it a loss on this bracelet and look for a more modern super jubilee.

Maybe some pictures would help us determine what you have. Screwdrivers from 1.2mm to 1.6mm should fit any Rolex bracelet screw.

Maybe you have a aftermarket bracelet with friction pins that are made to look somewhat like screws.

I agree... i measured it with a ruler... looks like the old jubilee bands are 1mm...

There is a tool made for stubborn screws.. It holds the bracelet sturdily, then the screwdriver blade is tightened into position in the slot with it's own threads, then the screw is "broken" loose with little possibility of slippage or damage... Although, sometimes the screw and link need to be destroyed to get things apart, and then replaced..

Check out Otto Frei ( Ofrei.com ) for watchmaker and bracelet tools..

Yes, 1.6 fits perfectly. I got mine from Ofrei.com by bergeon. Worked great, glad I waited for the right tool.
