Has My Rolex Ruined Me?

This is a bit of a different thread perhaps. I started off with a PAM111 and never fancied myself much of a Rolex guy (felt I was too young for the brand (before anyone asks I'm in my mid-ish/late 20's) ), but upon the recommendation of a friend and a lovely purchasing procedure from DavidSW I ended up acquiring an LV. Still I never really bonded with the watch right off the bat. Even after some Caribbean vacation wearing, work travel, and wearing it with everything from shorts to a suit I just wasn't there yet.

A few months after getting the LV I also picked up an Omega Speedy Pro with a gorgeous sapphire caseback. Felt the collection was nearly complete. Recently though something has changed...

Every day I'm not wearing the LV I find myself wanting to wear the LV and nothing else. Even my beloved PAM111 is losing ground to this thing. It's not that I don't really like the other pieces it's just this damn Submariner, it's so nice! I was still considering selling it all off for a white faced SS Daytona, but now I don't know...the Sub is just so good.

So the question is do I sell off the others and just have some extra dough around and enjoy the LV only? Or hold on to things I'm not wearing?

Consider me sold. I get the Rolex thing now.

Cliffs: Never thought I was a Rolex guy, bought a Rolex, now addicted and wanting to not own anything else. Wtf happened to variety being the spice of life?

X2

I would liquidate, and find a daytona. If the others don't get wrist time, and there's no sentimental attachment CATCH & RELEASE!!!

That's kinda what I'm thinking about the PAM and Omega. I'm not sure I could part with the LV now that I love it so damn much.

Since getting my Milgauss I know I will not wear another watch so mine are all going up for sale apart from the Oris which was a wonderful gift!

Well, don't be so quick to sell of the other watches just yet... put them away for a while and just enjoy the LV. Then after a few months if you still don't miss the PAM or Omega then perhaps consider selling them!

I had same feeling as you. I started my little collection from a PAM.... however, rolex grows faster! LOL

I would not sell your Pam or your Omega, ever. Right now you have 3 fantastic watches, and they are all different enough to justify keeping. If you sold what you had for a Daytona, you would be making a huge mistake.

There are people who only live for Rolex, and IMHO, they are missing out on experiencing some fantastic timepieces. I personally prefer the sapphire sandwich to any Daytona, don't like the hype get to you, you have everything you need. You have a nice, diverse collection, darn near perfect if you ask me.

However, you may end up only wearing the Daytona to the detriment of the LV heh heh heh

I love you guys, I know it's a damn near perfect collection. All it's missing is a nice birth year GMT

I'm just not a huge collection guy, it's kinda like my cars. I could go buy a few that I know I'd love every once in awhile, but the cost of ownership isn't really worthwhile to me. I know the watch thing is small scale, but same kind of principles apply.

I have the same problem with a SD. I don't seem to pick up any of the other

watches I had been wearing. I love the Milgauss, but I sometimes miss the date function.

I know what you are going trough. I started with an PAM 112 and then the LV. I still keep the Pam, but It will never give me the same as my LV (and my 14060m) . The Rolex just gets more time on my wrist. But the Pam is nice to wear when I want a litte change (but that is not that often anymore)..
