My AD received 40 SS Daytona's...
I went to the AD today to see what they've got, not in the market right now since it's not even a month since my last purchase, but I still went.
I was surprised to find that they received 40 (yes, forty) SS Daytona's because the shop is celebrating the 40th anniversary and it was the way Rolex said thanks for being a dealer for so long. All SS Daytonas received have a white dial and they're selling them for $11,500 (16% VAT included) in Mexico City, as a gift with every one they're giving out a Rolex single watch winder. Needless to say I for a moment I started to get nervous and thought about giving my credit card to the guy, fortunately I remained calm and didn't. If anybody's looking for one and is coming to Mexico City, this is your chance... |

Interesting. Not a fan of the SS Daytona, as I have always thought the watch appeared tiny in person and the "elusive" factor in the last couple years was pure marketing/hype. But still I can't imagine any AD getting 40 of them at one time. Most I've ever known at any one AD at one time in stock was two.
If this AD did indeed get 40, I hope all those who desire the watch get it! |

I'll try to go back and take a pic, it's true.
The only thing I didn't like is that all of them had engraved backs, the logo and name of the shop and 1969-2009. Anyone else in Mexico City? Take a look at Peyrelongue in Masaryk, on the 1st floor (below street level) to the right of the stairs and center display. |

Not that I doubt you
but the sales people could be pulling your legs. I deal with large and small ADs here in the states, some of them have been Rolex AD for 50 years, and at no times, I see that they have more than 2 SS Daytonas in stock.
Pictures or else the sales people are BSing |

They have a website...
http://www.chronos.com.mx But it is very slow (certainly here for me it is anyway) and I cannot seem to get any Rolex details on it......

I saw the watches, not all 40, but at least 18 in the same display case, I tried one on taken from that very display case.
Sorry I can't seem to convince anyone without pictures, all I can do is say I saw them. Anyone interested in coming to Mexico City to certify it? Anyone that shows up to the store on Monday and what I say isn't so will get a plane ticket refund from me... Sorry, getting a little frustrated here. If a moderator could please delete the thread to save us all the aggravation would be great. |

Wow...to pay all that money only to have the AD name engraved on the watch? They would have to give me a 50% discount to do that...I would then promptly get a new caseback!

The engraving could always be removed, as long as it isn't too deep of course....but those watches would be prime candidates for the clear caseback treatment!....I would just love to see them all in one place all at the same time...I am not doubting here by the way, I just think it would be a spectacular and one off photo
