I absolutely agree that Dirost did the right thing in stating his version of events & I too salute him for it.

I just can't abide cyber-thugs threatening to "rearrange a face" in an email.

I mean c'mon......

at least get on a plane & do it properly y'know!!

The fact is there are some people, because we exchange on a virtual level, who allow themselves to say words as asshole or I don't know what.
These specific people, in their great majority, wouldn't dare to say half of it in the real world. Sometimes, they must be just put at their right place.
Believe me : nobody treats me asshole in the real life because of 2 reasons :
- my behavior is clean and doesn't justify it
- and I wouldn't let him go on. OK ?
So you can joke in posting that kind of pictures, but more or less it is a way to say : dirost, you're a gansta (I think it is the way to say it in american...).
I hardly appreciate.

Didier by your own acknowledgement you threatened to "rearrange a face".

Not only did you make this threat but you did so in an email (or PM?).

I'm not American (nor I believe are you) so I won't comment on the term "Gangsta" for fear of misinterpretation, but in my opinion your behaviour was actually that of an "e-thug".

I'm not commenting on the rights nor wrongs of the unconcluded deal but just your 'cyber-threat'.

However I fully acknowledge that I have only read both parties very summarised versions of events & I further acknowledge that my instinctive allegiance to a fellow forum-member may have clouded my judgement in uploading the image.

Therefore I apologise if my 'poster' caused you unwarranted offence & I too welcome you to the forum.

This is TRF and it is only normal that we stand up for our fellow members .
Unconditional support ???
As you can see I was the first to reply on Steve's request for references . The username Dirost sounded familiar to me because I roam other Rolex related forums ( like most of us do , I recognize many usernames from here on other forums ) . I insist that I never had any direct dealings with this person , but many have and are evidently satisfied .
Little did I know that Steve and Dirost had that run in before his "reference check"
To me Steve's request was not a reference check as such , he was after what he was hoping to find : Negative feedback reports from Dirost and support from his fellow TRF members .
Steve's second post was clearly directed to discredit Dirost and was calling him a scammer , not based on facts but far fetched suppositions .
I invite all of you to visit the major French language Rolex /watch related forums and you will soon understand that Dirost is not associated with such aggressive behavior let alone known be a scammer .
I do not think we can reduce it to " lost in translation " when we can appreciate that Dirost masters the English / American language pretty well .
Even I condone the fact that Dirost replied what he replied , I can see that something was done and said by Steve first that set it all off .
They are both Rolex lovers and should bury the hatchet .

Thank you. seems Steve ( IMHO) gets into quite a few unnecessary arguments on here in recent times.

This guy Dirost sounds like a regular guy. I would get pissed too if the seller changed his mind on me and wouldn't close a deal after thorough communications.

Welcome, Dirost - please don't let one instance prevent you from coming back mate...

To be quite frank, I am not sure how different I would have reacted than you, so what can I say.... (although, like Dan said, I'd be raking up some frequent flyer miles ).

Im glad both sides of the story posted!
This way we can see the real picture and make our own informed opinions of others, which I am not going to post as it is not flattering.
Welcome Dirost to TRF! Even though you have been a member for a few years, certainly you have been hiding behind the scenes!
