Is it no Basel fever this year?>>>>>>
Or is it very silent about what will happend in Basel beacause of JJ's disease.
Normally JJ use to put up the questions and hopes what Rolex will come up with and keep the rumors alive. The last week usually supposed to speculation hail usually. We getting closer guys, next week with this time I will pack my bags.

I'm not convinced about the ExpII, so we have to see. Not any NEW models I believe.

I'm curious to see the fate of the no date Sub. Are they killing it off or supercasing it? I'm on pins and needles thinking about it!

I would like to see a few new dials for the DateJustII. Specifically the SS ones. I have only seen one white face (stick dial) and one rhodium Dial (blue arabic). I am waiting to see a white or rhodium roman dial. Hopefully wthout a stick marker at the 9 position.

I'm desperately hoping that they update the No Date Sub!
Don't get me wrong, I love the classic looks of it as it is but the only reason I was "allowed" to buy my 14060M COSC is that I convinced my girlfriend they'd soon update the range and that, as a result, the COSC version would only have had a limited run and would be as good as money in the bank! Now, I didn't buy it for an investment (and I sincerely hope it's on my wrist when I breathe my last) BUT if I was wrong and they don't update it "The Long-Haired General" might just have me on punishment detail for a long time! |

Can't Wait for the photo's, Now remember that your photo's to and from basel are just as important as the new watches are . You have a way of telling the whole story that makes me feel like I was there with you. Post Pay-Pal number for donations. Good Luck and have a safe trip. I hope you enjoy the trip as much as we enjoy enjoy your story. Regards: Casey.

You're right, my friend. JJ usually had lots of us making predictions at a fever pitch by now. Bet the 'ol boy has a few words of advise for Rolex.
I'm still so shocked at Tudor's impact last year. I think both Rolex and Tudor fans are dreaming of something "historically modern". dP

I believe that the global situation, and the japanese one in particuar, is pushing Basel in background this year.

BTW - I'll take a turn at stirring the pot. This of course is completely unsubstantiated innuendo... but an AD I spoke to last week believes the updated Exp II will make an appearance. He said that he had nothing to go on besides his opinion and that of other watch dealers he knows. We were talking about the current Exp II and he stated that Rolex is beginning to limit production and distribution. His belief is so that the remaining ones will be in higher demand. Maybe a similar situation to the 16710 market buzz. Of course... we never know until the day. Fun to talk about it anyway. |

It just seems so obvious that the Exp II and ND Sub will be updated, and how they will get updated, it's hard to get a lot of "excitement" going.....

I can see the possibility of the following new bits from Rolex next week:
- Sub-C ND - GMT IIC Pepsi/Coke/Sprite (maybe WG case+bracelet to make them even more special?) - updated Exp II - updated YM I - all-steel DJ II with domed bezel - new DJ II dials, new DD II dials I'm also curious which year the Daytona gets to the 50th anniversary model, and whether it would be a platinum watch. IMHO a platinum Daytona -- with some green bits perhaps -- would make perfect sense. |

I think Rolex have run out of any more ideas!!
Most of their current models have reached their peak with all the possible new additions Rolex could think of adding in. The Exp-II is the only one which might need a boost and possibly the ND SUB as long as the originality of both these watches is still maintained. Of course, Rolex have plenty of gold and diamonds lying around and could possibly come up with some more "blingy" updates on the ladies and 36 mm DJ. JJ
