Have you seen the Audi R8?

A friend of mine just bought one and brought it over to show me. I was leaving so couldn't talk to him much about it. Beautiful car, I'll get to check it out more next week. I think it cost around $180,000. I had never heard of the R8.

Yes, I saw one not long ago. There don't seem to be too many around but they are out there.

Awesome car - available with either a V8 or a V10 engine, as well as convertible editions. Some really striking design work!

Yes

I have the 2008 Audi RS4 which shares the frame, suspension and V-8 engine with the 8 cylinder R-8. Superb stuff. There is also a ten cylinder version.

Here in California you can buy the V-8 version for $129,000. The ten cylinder is more. Or if you want basically the exact same performance with two extra seats which can be folded down for cargo, consider finding a 2008 Audi RS4 sedan (only brought into the US for 2007 and 2008 to my knowledge). That will only set you back around $40,000 for a car that was $73,000 new and probably has under 30,000 miles on it. The 4.2 V-8 has been one of the best engines for Audi in several vehicles. I first had one in my 2002 Audi S8, and prefer it to the V-10. In the R-8 and RS4 it is in fine tune.

And then there are the accessories.
Yes, I don't understand but it is the same for everything including Rolex prices.
I drove an R8 (a white V10) when I was in New Zealand last month.
Just like a go cart and sounds brilliant.
Interesting that the same engine in a Lambo puts out more power.

Pretty sweet cars. I hate the commercial though. It shows the R8 driving through a snow storm talking-up is AWD. Then proceeds to give you info on not the R8 but the A4 (without even showing the A4). Kind of misleading...

There is an Audi dealer around the corner from work and they were tearing up and down the road in one a few weeks ago!

Very cool car.

Had one behind me yesterday. He had his wife in the car so he was trying to behave. What a shame, we could have had a little fun.

I've seen a red one and a silver one around. It's a sexy car but not as sexy as a Veyron I saw once. When I saw it I just about parked in the backseat of the car in front of me
