The band on my Datejust seemed to be a little to tight for me. It would slide down just below the wrist bone and just sit there. I would have to undo the clasp to move it back up. I adjusted the band by moving the pin to the last hole in the clasp and it feels comfortable now, however will this cause bracelet stretch in the future if I wear it slightly loose. I think it is fine. I don't think it will cause any stretch.

Wear it and enjoy it

My wife prefers her's so loose that you can rotate it around her wrist and there is no stretch to her band at all.

Looks good to me, its allows for your wrist to swell and not feel tight.

If the watch rides over the wrist/hand joint, the pins and gold links can be highly stressed when the hand is bent back and pressing heavily against something like a door or desk with a lot of body weight behind.

"Too loose, too tight," what matters is what is comfortable to YOU.

Dont let people influence what is "comfortable" to you because in the end - EVERYTHING wears out and eveything can be replaced.

For that matter, if your really worried about stretching out a bracelet, thread a ballistic nylon on it or some other strap, and save the bracelet for other times...

From your photos, I see your bracelet not 'balanced' and it can cause major discomfort when wearing for long hours.. If you can bring to a watch maker to balance out the bracelet, it will make a major difference! I hope you know what I mean, anyone can help me out here?

Jennifer, I see what you mean. The clasp is not centered under the wrist.
Moving a link from the 6:00 side to the 12:00 side will usually solve this problem. Good catch.

I like the watch to sit "above" the wrist bone.
When you dorsi-flex your wrist (like when you do push ups) with your watch right at the wrist joint, it does put more pressure on the bracelet.

I think it looks comfortable that way. I wear mine so loose if flops around, I prefer it that way. That's why they call the band a 'bracelet', right?

I wear it about that loose. That's about as tight as I like it. It allows for a bit of swell this way.

Watches should be worn just above the wrist bone and if you can just get your little finger under bottom link or clasp thats fine.And steel or gold or any other metal don't stretch except for springs.What happens is the dirt grit from daily wear elongates the bracelet pin holes just keep them clean with soap and water they will last for many many years.

The major cause of stretch is sweat, body oil, grit and grime in the link pin holes and on the pins. This acts as an abrasive and wears the holes larger and the pins smaller. the band gets cleaned every other day, so there is no dirt inside the links near the pins. Once and a while I put it into the ultra sonic cleaning machine that my dad uses for dentures in his lab. I of course make sure that there are no dentures in the machine before dropping the band in.

I like to wear my watch a little loose myself. However, Rolex wears itself differently to me, because of it's weight. My Movado watch is very light in comparison, and even with a bracelet gap like in you picture - it stays put. I can slide all the way down between hand and the knuckle - and it will not budge if I raise my hand up.
With Rolex I had the bracelet sized the same against Rolex dealer recommendation and the watch would slide down toward the elbow if I raise my hand. That's because of how heavy Rolex Sub is. So after two years, I finally had the link taken out again and bracelet adjusted to how dealer originally recommended. Watch now stays put no matter where I put it. I like it. I guess you just have to adjust to how Rolex wears. It certainly doesn't want to adjust to its owner.

What a snob

By the way, I checked the condition of the TT SEL link, and didn't notice any wear as a result of wearing loose bracelet for 2 years. Maybe it's because Rolex is my weekend watch? I wouldn't worry too much about it.
