Second Opinions Please

Hi Folks,

I ran this Thunderbird up your flagpole a few weeks ago it the watch was believed to be authentic by several of you. Now I've got it here and I'd like some of you experts to chime on the actual watch. Here's some pics I just took.

Thanks all!

Nice! You better adjust the bezel so the pointer is exactly at 12:00.

Some people are real particular about this. My bezel is wherever I left it at.

OK, so you don't like it, no matter to me. All I was asking is whether or not it's authentic.

So 3 posts without the work 'fake' must mean I landed the real McCoy.

You're like me about the bezel, mine'll probably never be straight up again. I've already used it twice today and right now the pointer is just shy of 11.

Thanks the extra info, it's cool to know the history here. Somehow it's even cooler that I chose an Air Force blue dial.

Thanks, I was hoping it was.

Do you or anyone know much about the dial on this one? If they made very many, etc? It's got me curious because I don't know if I've seen one before. With the nakes eye it's real hard to tell it's got the jubilee markings, but it shows up really good in pictures.

Beautiful! I like the gold and blue contrast. Nice purchase - and it's cool to see another gal sporting a T-bird!

That's what got me too. I wanted this color and a useable bezel. I was looking for a nid-size YM when this one started talking to me and finally won me over.

in response to your dial question, it is called a electric blue anniversary dial, some call it a computer dial also.

Hmmmmmm, that explains why I couldn't find any pictures like it. I thought it was a jubilee. Do you know what years they made them and what colors you could get?

And thanks!

more about your dial

hi, they started these dials in the early eighties i believe they are still available in the latest rolex dial catalogue, over the years it has come in many colors, i have personally seen champagne, silver, black, white, cream and blue like yours to name a few, there are probably a few more also.

heres a link to the latest catalogue, you can save a copy of the dial and bracelet catalogue

Interesting, thanks for that.

BTW, since the watch turned out good I guess it wouldn't hurt to name the seller in case anyone else does a search for their name. I got it from an ebayer called TradeinWatches, and was able to get it for a few hundred less that the original buy-it-now price.
