Why have a black incert on a 16610LV?
I am curious. Why does so many guys with 16610LV's get black bezel incerts? Isnt it the same as a normal sub then? Defeats the purpose in my opinion..
Is it easy to exchange if and when you want, because if its pemanent surely it will hurt its resale value.. |

You get then the classic Sub look with a Maxi dial and a large minute hand.
That's the trick! If you keep the green bezel insert, you can switch back in seconds, if you ever sell it. |

Well the 16610LV is just a normal 16610 sub only difference maxi lume very slighty wider hands and a green bezel insert.Just like the 16710 GMT11 buy all 3 inserts then you have 3 different watches for vey little money its that simple,or two different look watches in the Sub..

Good question, great answers! I never knew that either. Can someone post a side by side pic of a black bezel 16610LV and a regular Sub so we can get a visual?

Have a V serial 16610.
If someone can copy and paste it next to theirs it will be fun to watch. |

black is more of a watch for all occasions...
avoids wear and tear on the Green insert... anniversary part costs a premium to replace, they are not easily found outside of AD and RSC would probably not replace w/o a full service? (flat four bezel inserts are probably even harder to source, and i would question if RSC will even endeavor to supply a replacement of the flat four variety in years to come?) p.s.. the 16610LV w maxi dial/hands, is incredibly legible.

i am tempted to put black insert on my LV.
i don't wear the LV too much and i think a black bezel may change that and yes, maxi dial and hands + black insert seems to be a good idea ... :) |

i only lasted 2 days with the black insert. i think that everyone needs to try it once if they are thinking about it.

After having my GMTC for a few years I have been used to a decent lume that works at night, my 16610 has the non maxi dial and its lume is quite useless in comparison. I would be tempted to change it for the LV model and have the black insert as an option.

I guess the better question is.....why not? As mentioned, that's the beauty behind the LV (similar to the 16710) - 2 watches in 1.
