I don't understand why he has the RSC repair box on the photo, if this is a (like)new watch...

I see what you are saying about the crown guards but the pics aren't very good. I'm no expert but better pics would be helpful. For the sake of the person who purchased it I hope you are wrong.

It's fishy. For the reasons mentioned by daunwaun and the fact that the date looks white...and he says has 12 sub on the 20th of August and today he says 8. But I am not sure about this one. So i'll stay out of it.

Now I've seen everything. Ebay's one thing, but the Forum... Next thing you know these replicas will be sold at AD's.
I wonder how many people out there "think" they bought a genuine Rolex but are wearing a replica and don't even know it.

Lighting has a lot to do with the overall perception of both the guards and the pearl. It's really hard to tell. Wish an expert would chime in

I don't see anything wrong with the bezel pearl or crown guards. Photography is not perfect.

Just offering my unsolicited opinion which often upsets some serious people.

I just compared my Blue TT Sub to the pics. The crown on the dial is too big. The Rolex on the dial looks too big. The color of the blue looks wrong too...

The gold color on the bezel looks wrong. Good spot.

Who is the poor guy who bought this. Do not send payment until you get this sorted!!

The bezel pearl does seem to be very off-centered. Date magnification also looks a bit off. Comparing it to an SS Submariner pic, the "Swiss Made" seems to be too close to the six o'clock marker. Yup, crown does look to be big. The "5" font on the bezel also looks wrong to me. Just my 2 cents.

TRUE!!!

RUSA gave me a service estimate ($501.75) only to call me the next day to cancel the service and tell me I had a fake.

Even Rolex initially missed a fake!

You know, all the threads that he posted add up. Kind of like a setup from the first to the last. daunwaun was on target. When something is too good to be true it usually is. If it smells fishy, its a fish or has been with fish. Good catch daunwaun .

I hope and pray that this gets resolved favorably for the buyer.

I have two good watches that I bought used. An Air King and a Tudor Chronograph. I joined TRF just as the bug to get another watch (TT Blue Sub).

At first, I thought that anyone who went to an AD and paid retail price for a Rolex (or anything else for that matter) was being wasteful with his money. I initially was determined to buy from a good gray dealer or even more likely, buy used. I had just won about 1/3 of the needed money on the lottery, and was beginning to shop. As I read and posted more, I became more and more receptive to buying new from an AD. I was growing more fearful of getting a "frankenwatch". I'd like to think that I could spot an outright fake if I had it in my hands and played with it some. One of my best friends got a TT Serti Sub a year and a half ago from a big dealer of used Rolexes in Atlanta about 18 months ago. It was "serviced" and polished before he picked it up for $5K and now it has to be set daily. (Sounds like it needs "serviced" again....)

As luck would have it, I wound up with some additional winnings (about 88% of the needed funds), I decided that just this one time, I was going to get my watch brand new from an AD with the paperwork in MY name. I plopped down my cash and took away a lay-a-way on the watch. I got what I believe to be a fantastic deal on a new in box Z series 16613. It's actually the older Z series because it has the paper certificate and the hologram on the caseback.

With the deal I got, it's worth the peace of mind to know for CERTAIN that it's a genuine BNIB Rolex.

BTW, my buddy with the TT Serti Sub...it has a MOP face, not the silver color...frankenwatch? fake? genuine? Who knows?
