Hi guys I'm new to the forum and I am currently going to purchase my first Rolex the green submariner however having been searching high and low I see them ranging from £3000-£5250 why is there such a big price range are certain dates more rare than others and this is why I know condition can play a big part however I can't get my head around the big price diffrence any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated just want to know I'm buying the right one

There are two different references:
1) 16610LV Black Dial/Green Bezel
2) 116610LV (Ceramic) Green Dial/Green Bezel

Which one are you interested in?

You need to pay attention to precise model numbers to get accurate comparisons.

£3000 for a 16610LV with paperwork is cheap.

Buy-it-now cheap, if the watch is good and proper.

The difference in price you are seeing may be explained by the hype surrounding certain models identified as being early on in the production of this model some known as 2003 F wide 4 and oval O models.Personally I don`t put much stock in the hyped up values of these so called "collector" attributes so I don`t study them.

If I were you I`d look for something more affordable from a reputable seller rather than a "collector" priced piece.

The one in looking at is 4750 however looking online I see reputable jewelers selling from between these prices and was wanting to know if there is a certain reason as I don't want to be ripped off plus if there is a certain thing I should look out for eg certain year then I would do that do you know why there is such a difference in price

Thanks for the info mate if I'm being honest its nothing to do with it being the anniversary watch its I really like the watch as I said in a previous post I just don't want to be ripped off and I am trying to get my head around the big price difference in the watches

Condition, box and papers are important and some of them are more desirable such as the flat 4. Check out blowers jewellers they're good to go by

With the 16610lv there's a few production differences with dial font and bezel numbering... Very small changes and differences in production but they do seem to have a slight influence on prices.

Someone with more details of the above may chime in.

If you`re looking for an affordable "Anniversary" 16610 LV you may have to work at it for a while,it looks to me like most sellers are asking way too much for these pieces.

Flat 4 is the shape of the 4 on the 40 on the bezel no big difference it's just unusual. It isn't worth the extra if you just like the watch and are not a collector. 4500-4750 is about par for the course

I can`t really comment on the UK market because I don`t follow it closely,I do however know that US and UK prices are not comparable on a currency exchange basis,UK prices are higher overall after exchange rate conversion.This is why eBay prices prices in US dollars may seem low compared to UK prices.

You would be best to consult someone in your area to get a better idea of what prices are in your neck of the woods.

Also the further you go down the sold item list the older the prices so prices at the Bottom are much lower as it was a few years back when they were still In production They arent produced anymore so there is a demand for them in the secondhand market So they are able to charge more than before

Don't worry about making a purchase at Blowers either.. They are very sound people and I've bought from and sold to them before.

Excellent after sales too which is easily equal to an A.D
