the last decade or so in a car nuts life
i thought I would share some pictures of my last few cars with the board. oldest to newest......
I have only had the XKR for 8 weeks or so and I will not be adding to the list for a couple of years. So far I am very impressed with the XKR.

Nice choices, but I must ask: 993 for 986? And was that a 996 C2S or C4S?
I'm glad you went back to sliver after the 986.

993 C4
986 2.7 996 C4 996C4S SL55AMG XKR 4.2 as for the boxster, I wanted a convertible and hated the 993 cab. no regrets at all - boxsters are darn good cars and handle beautifully - did have to go back to 911's tho silver has been a bit accidental in that the best used deals when I have looking to buy have been silver but that may be that silver cars seem to age better imo and I always buy at least 4 years old as I cant afford new ones AND watches at the same time

I think the XKR takes the cake out of all these.... I've driven some nice machines in my lifetime, and the handling of the new Jags is just unreal. Plus stock 550HP under an aluminum frame doesn't hurt either.

just that the roof was a mess when down cos the car was never designed to be a convertible - not fond of the 993 targa either cos you lose the iconic rear window shape - anal but the 911 shape for me is a coupe every time

Like this thread. I'm partial to the 993. Hanging on to my Arctic Silver with 25k on it. Love the 997s as well. Have to admit the XKR is a beauty and would make a great daily driver. Nicely done! Cheers.

They're primitive by today's standards but that's where the appeal lies. Great driver's car. Get one. The 3.2s are bulletproof and a great place to start. Much like Rolex, once you buy one........ You'll be looking for a 993.
