I think I've read that the movement never needs adjusting. Something about the fiberglass mainspring never losing flex or something. It blows my mind. 2 mainsprings working in conjunction. Wow.

Very modern and unique! I quite like it but I wouldn't keep that as my only watch.

I think that is the ID2 concept watch. If so, I read that only one was made and will not be produced for sale. Cartier just uses it to test new ideas, such as a movement that never needs to be regulated, and will take bits and pieces to incorporate into future watches that will actually be available to the public.

Regardless, Cartier seems to be taking "watchmaking" much more seriously these days.

Can't see why they designed the hands so small, going to be so hard to read!

Now that is in unique watch!
Saw a clear cased G-Shock the other
day and I thought that was cool but this wins!

I bet its quite a hefty price tag!

that is indeed the ID2. The watch is pretty amazing if you read a full write up on it. It is NOT for sale. If I remember right it has a 30 day power reserve, the case is setup in a vacuum which actually keeps the back on it. so there are not threads or screws. The whole concept was to look at different parts of watch designs where there could be gains in power conservation. There are really some advanced materials in that piece. It does borrow concepts developed in the ID1 which has the emphasis of making a watch that doesn't need adjustment.
