Never really cared for the Milgauss..

Until I saw it in person.

Me and the wife were married last month and were fortunate enough to receive a pair of watches as gifts. I'd been trying to reel her into the idea but she didn't seem interested, now she can't take hers off (Lady's Datejust) and watches me when I browse the forums.

Last year I purchased a GMTIIc that I fell in love with and wear almost daily, and I feel that the Milgauss compliments it very much as a dress piece. I'm just a lurker here since I'm still new to the world of watches, though, but do love it so!

Congratulations on both your wedding and that beautiful watch! The Milgauss is a very versatile piece and looks as dressy as it can fit a pair of jeans!

Now would it be possible to see a picture of the trio? I'm sure your wife wouldn't mind showing us her beautiful DJ!

I too just spotted my first Milgauss in the wild (Green Crystal, black dial) and it was a stunning beauty !

Great watch, an understated Rolex in some ways, but with the big Crown at 12 o'clock and the green crystal and orange highlights and lightning bolt it is bold in others.

Would love to have one in my rotation, will keep buying lottery tickets LOL.

In the 70's Rolex had a difficult time selling the Milgauss. Tiffany & Co signed a handful and those didn't do well either. No one wanted it, today an excellent condition Tif&Co Milgauss is currently around the $30-35k mark. Very rare and sought after... Mine is definitely a keeper! Who know's the 116400 can be discontinued like its predecessor, but (doubt it). Congrats.

Go the Milgauss! It's actually one of my fav watches. Looks a lot better on the wrist than pictures or a display cabinet would suggest. Congrats!

GMT IIc + Milgauss is a great combo - I can say having both (though Milgauss with black dial). You may add another piece or two if you hang around here. Milgauss also seems to fly little better under radar than GMT IIc.

Nothing wrong with having few choices.
