Omega GMT package
I've had this Omega for a week and, the whole package is a pretty well put together.
The white outer box is made from solid thick white cardboard, with a compartment for the warranty cards, instruction book (hardback) and of course the watch. The watch itself is housed in the inner box of soft red leather. The watch with positional adjustment overnight is about +1 second per day. Given that the watch was purchased used and had traveled internationally in the mail, then I dropped it onto a wooden floor, I think that is quite exceptional timekeeping (at least in the short period I've owned it). Now I'm waiting for the original COSC results/certificate which for the enthusiast and those technically minded is one hell of a bonus The sword hands and the nicely sized GMT hands really add to the pleasure of this watch, making it highly visible in any lighting conditions. The wave pattern on the dial is a very interesting effect, although it looks quite dominating in the photographs it is very subtle most of the time and even invisible at certain angles. The bezel rotates perfectly, with soft sounding and dampened to the touch micro clicks like you might expect to feel on the tumbler of a high quality device. I have no complaints at all, and I would do it all again. The only flaw is my photographic ability. |

Congratulations Steve!
I had the very same model about 2.5 years ago. In hindsight, I really don't know why I flipped it, it was accurate, looked good and great lume. Who can explain the WIS disease? I lost a grand on it as well. Wear it in good health! |

That's an excellent choice, Steve. The lume on that baby would blow most of the competition away.

Yes, one did with my SMP. I also believe there was one with my Speedy, but I'd need to check.

Nice one Steve.
It would be interesting to get a comparison between the Omega and the Rolex GMTs. |

Great watch Steve, don't know what you mean about your flaw in photography, they look very good mate.
Now that I am into a serious Omega myself, how does one go about getting the COSC results/certificate that you talk off getting for yours. |

Love the Omega packaging too. However, after some years the soft leather is sticking to the box and each other. I have red marks on the inside of the box where the warranty wallet and box were, and it has stripped off a little of the leather from them too. Has anyone else had this issue? Humidity? I have since used parchment paper to put between the leather and box.

to get the COSC certificate what you need to do is send an e-mail to AfterSales@omega.ch advise them of your watch model and express a desire to obtain a COSC certificate. They will respond and you may be required to send them a photograph of your warranty card with AD's endorsement, which they do when the watch is purchased. If you don't have that, you can ask how you might otherwise obtain the certificate. I don't think you should have any trouble, just provide them with as much information and photo's as possible. The Omega people are really extremely good and helpful. |

Very nice Gary, that little red touch to the stitching really does balance with the red on the dial & hands
