What do you think? This one is a little journey South of the Border, complete with burros. It's a wonder we haven't had a vintage-tablecloth shootout yet on this thread.
I love that DJ too. Glaah. -- Karis, you can still be the Texas Cowgirl 'round these parts. We cowgirls need to stick together. |

Mikki, those watches all seem very beautiful (although legal restrictions forbid me to admire the JLC triple calendar) and the condition of those models seems to be pretty good. Still, it seems like some of those (especally the Rolex models) were rather expensive, therefore I'd still recommend you to take a look in the For Sale of this website as well (it doesn't hurt to shop around). Now just how lovely is that!? Those simple watches are often the nicest ones! I have quite a few rings from the 1950's-1960's (including a 10kt gold one with a 24kt peso on it, it cost my grandfather 100$ back in the days...) but I'd definitely enjoy much older rings! Thank you kindly for sharing Lisa! P.S.: That ring matches your watch very, very well!

Thank you, FeelingTheBlues. Being a N00b, I know very little about pricing, and appreciate all the help I can get. I've looked a bit in the FS forum here, but they're mostly posting CHUNKY watches :-)

Here's a quick trick (I'll try to explain it the best way I can): - Put the endlink (the part in between your case and your bracelet) in between the lugs from under the case (it's easier to flip the watch and put it on its crystal, you may put it on something soft in order to prevent cracking the crystal) - Put one end of the springbar in its hole and "squeeze" the other one in the endlink with a credit card or any thin but rather tough piece of plastic. - Slide the card (or the piece of plastic) in between the lug and the endlink until the endlink is pretty much in the good position. - Slide the card out (make sure the endlink doesn't follow it). - If needed, move the endlink a little bit until the other sprinbar's end goes in its hole. You'll hear a little click once this is done. If you don't hear nothing, move it until the endlink stays still and doesn't move anymore. - For the other side, you may find it more difficult because you are "closing" the bracelet around the watch but you may use the same thing. The credit card can, of course, be replaced by the tool you have but I'd be careful if you are not used to manipulating such a tool. If you don't mind scratches you can always practice with it but if you are a clean case freak (this is not meant to insult anybody who doesn't like scratches) a bad move could leave a dent or a bad scratch on your lug or case. I hope it helped a little bit.

What's the point of having something so called "better" if you can't use it on time!

Tut tut my late friend, surely you don't mean to tell me it's easier to find a springbar tool than a credit card, right?

By the way, Mikki, please don't take the little banter I have with Wes too seriously. We just like to have some fun together!
In fact, it doesn't happen that often...but when it happens...

Take what seriously? I was just out dropping off my Chopard to be sent off for service. They told me 2 months. We shall see. p.s. My husband's name is also Wes. When we were at super expensive watch shop, he saw a JLC he admired. I think he's getting the bug :-)

Two months doesn't sound that bad, it will probably be ready a bit before that though. As for your Wes, if he admired a JLC then it most probably means he's getting a bug...a rather good bug in you ask me!
