X2, wish I would have also bought the Daytona I almost picked up that same day for like $4,600. I remember thinking they were insane for asking that price!

IIRC They increased the prices last year. Is this a yearly ritual now?

I spoke to an AD last week who told me that Daytonas are going up by an average of 2K (£, not $), but Subs and GMT2's should be more or less stable...reading through the thread, i don't know how true this is but I'm anticipating saving for longer than originally planned

Buy the February WatchTime and take the photo tour of the new Rolex manufacture in Bienne and you will see where your money is going

Yes, a price rise will happen. When, is anybody's guess. These threads come up about every two weeks or so and the only people who know for SURE are Rolex themselves.

Rolex has been rising prices by about 8 percent for as long as I can remember. Sometimes once a year, sometimes a little more often. There prices generally keep their product out of reach for a lot of people. They will keep raising prices because they can. In 2003, my SS sub was 4250. I was single at the time. Now, 4250 for a watch is a pipe dream since i have a family, but the price has doubled. That has put anything new for me completely out of reach.

Well I heard from a very reliable source that Rolex are to reduce the prices over the whole range by 20%.With bargain offers like buy one get second half price, buy three get one free, but again the reliable source might have been from fantasy island.

Good folks, you're missing one thing: this is not Rolex fault. It's the Fed.

Since 2006, the USD has dropped by 40% against the Swiss Franc. That's
money you're loosing because the Fed is running the money printing presses
at full speed.

Throw in Swiss annual inflation and you've got a large part of the prices explained,
not least in combination with the quality upgrades made during the period.

I bought a new SD in 1999 for $3000 out the door. But know I had to flip it for a sub the another flip 6 more times. I wish I kept it and saved a lot of cash stupid.

Mixed feelings about the price increase. Love the fact that my Milgauss has seen two price increases since purchase, Daytona and Explorer one increase. Have to say I wouldn't pay what they are asking for a SS Daytona now. Good reminder to be happy with what you have.

Well the last increase in the US was effective May 1 of last year, so it seems time again.

I don't understand why these price increases come more than once a year. If you increase in May and then do it next March, you haven't waited a year. Next year it will probably come in January.

I'd be very surprised if it doesn't come in March. It's been mentioned way too many times on this forum from members from all over the world. I once read on this very forum that Rolex AD's only got news of the price increase a few days in advance but have been hearing March since mid December.

If it doesn't come in March then I'm never opening a price increase thread again unless it says "official" or something on those lines.

Last year around May 25th someone right here on trf posted that he heard rumors of a price increase within the week, another member confirmed it the next day. So i went out and bought that same day, and I'm glad I did. The rumors were 100% correct, it saved me quite a bit.

+2 It's like the tide. Didn't like what I paid for SS Daytona last month but had to have it and, with this news, glad I didn't wait.
