Close call-buyers beware

Hello all,

I had a close call at a face to face meeting to sell my sea dweller and wanted to share it with everyone.
I posted my 16600 for sale on Craigslist. A guy called and said he wanted to purchase it. Over the next few days we exchanged calls and text messages setting up the meeting.
He said he banked at Bank of America and asked if we could meet there and he could see the watch and wire me the money right then. I picked a Bank of America that was convenient for us. About 2 hours before we were going to meet up he called and said that his wife reminded him that some funds had gone out of his b of a account and asked if we could meet at the Chase bank just down the street. I agreed.
I'm sitting in the bank waiting and in walks a young guy claiming to be the guy I've been talking with. I can tell right away that his voice is different. I have him sit down and I start chatting and asking him a few questions. He is sweating a lot and obviously nervous.
After talking for a couple minutes it's very obvious something was wrong. He wasn't getting his story right based on the conversations I'd had with the guy on the phone. This was definitely a different person. I put the watch in my wrist to make sure it's a little more secure.
About that time the bank manager comes over and says we can't do be in the bank doing that kind of business. I said its fairly common to meet at banks to sell expensive items.
She then tells us that just 2 weeks prior someone was selling a Rolex in their bank and the potential buyer grabbed the watch and ran out.
At that time is said "yeah, I think that's what's going on here". I told the guy I wasn't selling and he got up and left quickly.
I figured I was pretty safe doing the deal in a bank and everything seemed very legitimate up to that point.
Let this be a warning to everyone to be very careful even when meeting in a public place.
I would have been sick if that jerk would have stolen my watch.
Go with your guy on these deals. If it doesn't feel right then something is probably wrong.
