That was the worst sports injury
I have ever seen. My heart goes out to the young man, his family, and entire Louisville community.

That was ugly.
I hope that, in time, he can play again. |

I've never seen anything quite like it. Horrible. In the replay notice the reaction of his own teammates.

Could someone post a link... I've no idea what y'all are on about!
All I do know is that it can't be the worst ever if you are talking about him playing again... Or even walking agian... I'm a professional horseman and ex jump-jockey and I've seen people killed and, worse, a friend is now dead from the neck down after breaking his neck.

![]() Certainly dramatic and horrible to see but nowhere near the worst sports injury ever. I hope it looks worse than it is and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Haven't seen the video, and after reading the account I'm glad I tuned in late.

That was horrible. I hope he will be okay.
I have to say, though, that I watched the Mike Tyson/Evander Holyfield fight live (1997?), and I screamed, shouted, and covered my eyes when Mike went for Evander's ear, and bit off a chunk. That was an intentional, criminal act of mayhem. |

After reading these comments, I'll do my best to avoid watching it.
Hate seeing things like that.

That was the worst sports injury I have seen on tv. It was much worse than Willis McGahee's injury in the national championship game.
The skin broke open and six inches of bone came out. The rest of the leg was hanging on. I'm praying for that kid. |

Up there with some of the worst. Not the first compound fracture in a sporting event but probably the most visible. I hope he can come back from it.

After the elbow injury I suffered and the 3 months of recovery and probably a full year before I am close to normal, my heart goes out to this young man. It is a hard road! I am praying for him and his family. I know what it is like to have a life altering injury with the possibility of being crippled.

Was it due to a raised floor?

I watched the game but really couldnt see the detail until I watched the utube video. Simply awful. That one will be tough to come back from, but I wish him the best.

The kid jumped and when he landed the leg snapped and the bone broke in half. There was no contact. Nobody touched him.
The leg was hanging on by skin. Someone on the staff threw a towel over it to cover the injury. I am guessing the bone must have been fractured before the game and the boy didn't know. I can't understand how a leg can break like that from jumping three feet high. |
