When Will We Get a SS Panda Daytona???
Now that we have a true Panda Daytona (White Dial, Black Subs) in the WG and Two-Tone models, what's the chance of finally getting an SS version?????? Sure would be sweet!!!!!

Same reason we don't get a blue dial/bezel SS Sub. Smart Marketing.

The panda is a classic WG Daytona dial....... Why would Rolex ever devaiue all of their previous years marketing and product placement by making it available in an SS watch......
A bit like asking why they don't they make the Smurf dial and bezel available in SS..... It's just never going to happen....... |

PN Daytonas are great and all but I would much rather Rolex come up with a new horologically significant update rather than an aesthetic one.

Probably not. It's all about capitalizing profit. There's no reason since the WG versions are out there.

Just do it yourself. You can buy the dials from TRF members.

Funny how sure all of you are.....not saying its happening either but since Rolex first brought it back in WG and now a second iteration in Two Tone, maybe they're just slowly filtering down from the top of the line precious metals all the way to SS.....guess we'll have to just wait and see

I think most people I know would say I spend WAAAAAAAAY too much time on all things horological ....... As far as I'm aware, the YG panda dial has always been available as an option on the TT Daytona....certainly I've seen them in AD's and on watch forums for quite some time. But the point I was trying to make is that the YG and TT Daytonas share the same panda dial...... it has YG surrounds and lettering etc. But Rolex is fully aware that the visual look and image of the full YG watch is distinguishable enough for them not to bother restricting the option of the YG panda dial to just the YG Daytona, hence why it's available on the TT model. However, the WG panda dial in an SS Daytona (3rd photo down) would (apart from the little arrows on the bezel) look almost identical to the WG Daytona...... and this is why I believe you will never see it as an option in the SS Daytona..... so nothing to do with a gradual change of stance..... Just Rolex protecting the sales of the WG Daytona...... This is also probably the reason why Rolex don't bother with the little arrows on the bezels of most full YG Daytonas on bracelets....... because they look different enough not to require such differentiating features. |

Point I would like to make Paul Newmans are not panda dials.
Now there are vintage Daytonas with panda dials and they maybe has rare as PNs, but nowhere the price. Same is true for the big red Daytona which is black with white sub dials and by the way Newman worn one of those as well. |

I could see it happen with a new Daytona release. I also believe it will be closer to the price of the yachtmaster 2 ss.

so, the only forgone sales in the above scenarios would be those who do not buy a daytona, at all, because there is no panda dial on a SS - i would be surprised in the general watch buying public if that percentage is very high. just a theory |
