I feel your pain. Of course NYC has a higher than average net worth but that doesn't mean that their service shouldn't be much much better. Unfortunately no lemon law here but I would be furious. This is completely unacceptable especially with an almost new a8l.

My boss has had several A8L's over the past few years, leases for 2 years and then gets another. Just took delivery of a 2014 in Diesel a few weeks ago, what an incredible car. Of course, we will see how it wears over time.

Even my friends that have bought exotics from Manhatten motorcars have compliants...must be a city thing...

I agree with raising issue up to management or calling corporate. Otherwise, FB/Twitter.

THIS

I learned too late in my lemon x5 I just got rid of. It it had not been leased, I would have taken legal action.

I love German cars. Unfortunately they must be leased or ditched at 50k. With the mileage I do annually, leasing makes the most sense. My 911 has had a few minor rattles and electrical bugs since I leased it last April. Hang in there.

Though I agree that every vehicle made has some lemons in the bunch.

How did your buddies 2012 A8 have turbo lag issue when there was never a turbo model made then?

Wonder what the Japanese do differently than the Germans ? My 2008 Lexus RX has 226K miles and still runs like new. No issues, squeaks, rattles whatsoever. Driven hard as well.

I love my 2006 A8L. 7 yrs old and still going strong. I'd love to upgrade it to the new model but I'm always leery about the first few years of an updated model - regardless of brand.

I called this morning to get an update as the car has been in the dealer's possession for 5 days now with no update.

Guess what.... No update! Not even a call back.

I am about to take legal action.

Not even a call back, that's brutal. Anyway to get in touch with the dealer principal?

They sound like an awful dealer! Here you get a nice Audi (if Audi) or BMW (if BMW) loaner car and they are quite responsive. When I had my Audi A8L serviced for the day I got an A8 loaner car. When I had my 750Li serviced I got a 750i loaner car. One expects great service at that level of car! Again I would speak with the GM of dealership as that is completely unacceptable.

You're very lucky. When I take my Land Rover in they give me a rental car. And not a nice rental car, but something like a Suzuki Sidekick. The rental car experience is so bad, that when I return it, and get back into my truck, I appreciate my truck more than ever. Maybe it's a reverse psychology thing they're pulling over at Land Rover.

Ha you're not the only one. My porsche dealer sells land rover and volvo and we all get toyota camrys.

The bmw dealer has a couple 328xi's but mostly gives everyone hertz rental junk unless you called ahead and bitch about it, in which case you might get a 328.

One thing that lexus is good for is giving es lexus sedans to all cars in on service. Must be required by lexus because it is under the same umbrella of dealers locally. Not to mention their dealership is like the ritz carlton.

If that doesn't work, start contacting Audi of North American. Having spent so much on a car nothing else would be acceptable except a car that works exactly as it should. Definitely document everything. Seems like an unfortunate lemon. I love the A8L and believe its by far the nicest of the high end long wheelbase sedans but I've been hearing quality issues for years (To be honest I hear that about almost all high end auto companies). You should be able to work this out to your satisfaction but it's likely going to be a huge hassle. Let us know what happens.
Just like BMW Manhattan and MB Manhattan, Audi Manhattan is a company owned dealer. It won't take much to escalate it to Audi NA

Lemon it. I did that with my Range Rover. I gave them 6 attempts to fix a horrible suspension noise. One letter to LRNA and they agreed to repurchase it under the lemon law of NJ (I bought it in NJ but registered it in NY)

I agree and that is why I have bought 8 cars from them over the years!! They sell BMW's, Porsche's and Audi's and are a first class operation!
