What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.

If you are in Monterey, you should go the to aquarium as well. It is one of the nicest I've been to and really enjoy it.

Things to do in Montery, Carmel & Santa Rosa>>>

There is a mini Fisherman's Wharf similar to the one in SF. Walk up and down the pier. Then walk by Cannery Row and take a tour of the Aquarium when it opens. Have lunch there then drive to Carmel and take the infamous 17 Mile Drive. It's one of the most scenic drives in the U.S. right by the ocean. Stop and take pictures of The Lone Cypress - well known, photographed area. Very beautiful. Continue to Carmel By the Sea and stop by Fourtane. They have one of the best vintage Rolex collections. They're also a Rolex and Tudor AD. There are some pics from a GTG on the minus4plus6 website. If you play golf, Pebble Beach is one of the best and most scenic courses in the U.S. The U.S. Open is hosted there from time to time. Cheers!

Forgot to mention, in Santa Rosa go to the Charles Schulz Museum. He's the creator of the comic strip Peanuts with Snoopy, etc.

Michael covered many of the must-do's. Rent a bike in Monterey and ride into Pacific Grove, Asilomar... Carmel is like a fairy tale village full of shops, most catered to tourists. Check out Chatel which is the AD for Richard Mille.

In Santa Rosa, hit up Russian River Brewery. Maker of Pliny the Elder. One of the most celebrated and best ales in the US.

Take the Pacific coast highway. Amazing sceneries! Lighthouse across the cemetery in Monterey is a perfect spot for you to take your amazing pics!

I am on my way home from there, and agree with all the recommendations. Dinner at the Whaling Station (steaks) or Bistro Moulin in Monterey.

Big Sur is one of my favorite places in America. Sunset, last week:

Santa Rosa has the Charles Schultz museum. And its the edge of wine county, a quick drive over highway 12 will put you in the heart of wine country.

You know Santa Monica is in the southern part of the state, right? Which to us, is about like a separate and inferior state?

1. Big Sur. Try to get a room at Deetjens Big
Sur Inn or in the State Park. Make sure you
drive down to the Beach at Pfeiffer State Park.

2. Hearst Castle

3. The Inn at Morro Bay.

Jocke, if you only make it to one restaurant in Carmel, make it: Cafe Napoli--some of the best Italian food around. (We go there all the time.) Lots to do in Monterey. San Francisco will require much more time to explore. Good luck

Lots of good suggestions but the two "must sees" are the aquarium in Monterey (which is right on Cannery Row) and the 17 mile drive between Monterey and Carmel, it's a toll road but well worth the $15-$20 or so price tag, especially with your photo skills. Make sure they give you a map at the gate when you enter. Once in you can explore all around. The Delmonte Forest is imho one if the most beautiful places on earth.

Couldn't agree more!!

Monterey is completely unique Jocke and should not be missed, and Pebble Beach is part of the 17 mile drive and you will not believe the vistas from that small amount of driving, it's breath taking!!

Here's a tip on 17 Mile Drive. Stop off at Stillwaters at Pebble Beach Golf course, or one of the other restaurants at the golf courses. Have a drink or an appetizer.

Watching the bagpiper on the 18th green at sunset at the Inn on Spanish Bay is a nice way place, for example. They will validate your 17 Mile Drive toll, and refund your entrance fee at the restaurant. This is true of all the golf course restaurants on 17 Mile Drive.

And you are almost for sure to see sea lions and otters lounging around both in Monterey Harbor and along the coast of the Del Monte Forest.

Carmel restaurant not to be missed - Dametra's.

The owner had a passion for what he does and it shows in every aspect.

On the other side of the foothills from Santa Rosa is the Paso Robles Wine area.. some nice wineries to tour... Further north Winchester House is in San Jose; Santa Cruz has a Boardwalk and amusement rides. There are some giant Redwood or Sequoia Forests along the coast..

Couple of hours south you find Hearst Castle and the San Simean Sea Lion Beaches (preserve)

Couple hours north you find Napa Valley, San Francisco Bridge, Presidio

You won't run out of things to see and do..

You will drive over Bixby Creek Bridge along the Pacific Coasts Highway.. Don't forget your camera..
