Craig,

Weren't you afraid of getting the back of that shiny new SMP all scratched up on that shell? You know, I love the wavy lines on the face of that watch, it just adds a great look.

I know this may be a stupid question, but on the SMP what is the crown on the upper left side used for? Is it a helium escape valve?

It's a helium release valve, somewhat like what's found on the Seadweller. Alot of folks don't like the extra crown. I always did, as I think it evens out the balance of the dial. And, yes, the waves on the dial are just awesome, so is the sea monster on the back. These watches are just sooo coool. You should definitely give them a look next time you stop in to see Gil. They're the perfect go to watch if you want to give your Sub a little rest

Great results!! Omega's co-axial escapement is really one of the more reliable and well-built movements.
