What was Rolex thinking????

Can you even think of a Submariner like this! Maxi Dial - OK but the color is downright Ughh!!

Gotta agree with you!

This blue looks horrid! I guess Rolex could not get the right blue on the bezel and decided to make a matching dial. Awful looking watch, imho.

I don't think the Bugatti Blue is too bad and maybe it will grow on you.

Maybe they should have stuck to the Cobalt Blue - that would have gone well together.

Whatever that shade of blue Bugatti or not, it will not appeal to me . If Rolex designers need a bloody shade card - I have plenty here!

Oh dear, Jay - you don't sound a happy bear about that watch.

I wonder how long it will be before it gets replaced - assuming, of course, that very few people will buy it.

The irony will be, probably, that it will become collectable, no doubt.

Maybe you'll have to bite the bullet and get one after all.

You could wear welding goggles in the store, so you don't have to look at it, then throw it in the safe when you get home - for the next 20 years.

The color of the dial looks so fake that it would go straight to the safe!

Somehow, I don't think you'll convince TDH on this one.

As I state in my Basel report:

"Before the designers was old farts at Rolex, now it looks like the new ones comes
from kindergarten. I have never seen a Rolex that looks more fake than this one."

I will wait until I see it in person to pass judgment - as I too look awful in photographs, but look hot in person

However I will agree that I do not like the particular shade of blue

Just chatting to my AD about this watch and he was saying that in person it actually looks good, so lets wait and see before casting it away with the YM II, which if you read previous threads now seems in its own special way to be growing on people....

...and I don't mean like athletes foot

its time rolex invested in a pantone color chart. it could be a lifesaver for future color references.

im forced to use it in my line of work and all color matching services, i think rolex should too

oh and since im selling them... maybe we should go there

Amen. All this ranting and we don't even know if the camera or lighting are to blame.

I think that we should wait for the first live pics of the watch

Ceramic bezels play a lot of tricks to cameras

If that colour is close to true it is beyond me how this could make it to production. Of all the comments I've seen on this only one is positive.

With the maxi dial, the COSC blurb, the cyclops etc soon we wont even be able to see the dial. Too much going on IMHO.

Once you see it in person you'll like it for it's razor sharp looks and it looks good underwater too.. It's different but not for everyone. It's an eye catcher and will def be a great conversation starter.

I wonder whether Rolex performs any sort of market surveys for their new designs. I would guess not.
