Springtime switch of Coke to Pepsi!
A grey, rainy day here, but its time to switch the bezel insert of my Z series GMT II from burgundy/black to the classic blue and red.
Springtime and summer call for a more colour in my opinion, so as much as I like the burgundy/black, its time for the Pepsi! All-black was the bezel for October-January, the more colourful but still muted burgundy/black for the winter months, and now finally, as the end of winter here is finally in sight.......... I love signs of spring, and now the changing of the bezel is one more sign! ![]() Chris |

Who does the switching? Your AD? How complicated is the process?

I do the switch Mark. The first time, there were some nerves alright, but its not a complicated process. There are tutorials on this site, and if you check my previous posts, you'll find some pix and opinions about the process.
That said, as one of the contributors here (Ironstark) who works for Rolex has said, the bezels aren't designed to be switched out constantly. I keep this in mind and only do a switch on the order of about twice a year. The key is preparation, go slowly, be certain to very thoroughly cover the blade of the knife you intend to use to pry off the bezel with nice, soft electrical tape. As you gently lift the bezel off, check your tape every second or so to ensure that the tape isn't tearing through to allow metal on metal. Once the bezel comes off, keep in mind the orientation of all the parts; you can easily confuse the top of the bezel with the bottom. The click spring also belongs on top of the metal washer that is under the bezel. The red and blue are a nice arrangement; its the colour I originally chose, but the burgundy/black is a really close second, if not tied for first in my opinion. Best, Chris |

I bought the GMT:coke, and, also, an all black bezel, but have yet to change it. I got so used to the coke, that now it seems completely inauthentic for me to change. Dumb thinking on my part, I guess. Someday I'll drum up the courage to change. I'm sure there is a support group out there somewhere for this inability to change condition; and while I'm there, I can bring up the issue of being addicted to this forum.

I've seen some pretty scarey stuff happen with jewellers, including one who was banging my Fortis Marinemaster on the table when he was trying to force the lug pin on a bracelet change...... And the GMT colour you chose is probably the best one. C |
