Ebel Perpetual Calendar

I would be grateful if any of the forum members could please give me any info on the above watch.
I usually hang out on the Rolex forum, but please don't hold that against me
I recently saw the Ebel Perpetual Calendar watch and thought that it was a gorgeous looking watch.
I have always wanted to own a complication watch.
I hope to see one of the above watches at my AD later this week.
But I had a real shock, when he told me that the S/S version would cost £14,000 and the gold version was £26,000
I hope that you can help, as I don't know much about them.

A few years back I had a TT Ebel Sportwave Auto world timer. Ebels are nice watches. Back in the early 90's they were really pushed by the jewelry stores as an alternitive to Rolex.

They are nice, but did not have the feel a Rolex has. I wore mine for a few months and ended up getting a TT GMT and tried to sell the Ebel. It took forever to get rid of it, I actually used it in trade at Tourneau for another watch.

Ebel is a hard watch to resell. In the last 5 years they have been sold a pretty huge discounts. They have also been swapped around for distributors a couple of times from LVMH and then to Movado. Not sure who has them now.

Last year they revamped the 1911 line and have come up with some pretty nice stuff. They are really trying to appeal to a higher price point market.
