it's not a fake and it's not a prototype. This is a standard 116520 with a work dial used by Rolex when movements 4130 are sent to COSC for certification. |

The 2 dots on each side of the seconds sub dial at 6h are used for automatic centering. This is explained on the COSC site ( www.cosc.ch ). Here's an extract. . |

These dials pop up all the time. It's someone thinking they stumbled upon tens of thousands of dollars in a prototype watch.

That dial may be more legible than the white or black ones on SS models! 😆

Best way to eliminate the ridiculous valuation would be if Rolex made these dials available for any and all models.
New dial name: COSC Generic Work. I do like it. In fact one reason I went for a MOP Daytona (in addition to the cool rainbow shimmer in sunlight) was the cleaner subdials. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have mails from the original owner, a former Rolex engineer who worked on the begininning of the 4130 caliber with that clean proto dial! People are paying top dollar for a patrizzi dial or even a 116520 Panna dial, just colored original dials! Can you tell me why people should be crazy to buy a prototype/test dial? |
