![]() Ran across this site while looking for info to help me make an informed choice on a new watch --- Rolex, of course. This will be my 1st Rolex and I think I'm getting close to finding what I want. So far my favorites are the DateJust, the AirKing and, to my son's dismay, a Quartz. I"ll be sure to post some photos when I make up my mind. P.S. I'm a retired "double-dipper" --- 1st from the USAF (weather officer) and then from local government. |

Thank-You for serving our country. I have many ex-military that are retired that work for me. They make great workers. I see why you can afford a Rolex with two nice pensions and health care for life. It's a nice lifestyle and I'm sure you paid your dues to get there.
I would go to an AD and try several on. I had the TT "Bluesy" Submariner all decided on and then went in a completely different direction when I went to the authorized dealers. Welcome to TRF and I hope you enjoy your stay here and make several friends. Terry Newton

Thanks for the kind words.
The two pensions, etc are just barely enough as I"ve got a couple of expensive hobbies and it looks like coveting a Rolex is going to lead to another. I'm also a competitive shotgunner with way to many custom guns (really) + I try and take at least one hunting trip each year --- Argentina or Canada for bird shooting or Canada, Alaska or Africa for the big game. Anyone out there who needs a quality shotgun for skeet or trap shooting who'd like to trade a Rolex? |

Sunny in Miami
Would like to thank you all for the help. I have been looking at the forum for a few months now and learned a great deal from you guys about our passion.I bought a Breitling cockpit because I got sticker shock looking at the Rolex I wanted until I realized you only live once and I can afford it. Platty YM as the smiling man JJ refers to it as. I love it and wish I would have bought this first maybe I wouldn't have bought the B. But the B is a beautiful piece as well.
